dining room light fixture

Looking to replace this chandelier with something more modern but compliments the Wenge sideboard and amazing coved ceiling. Table and chairs to be replaced also.
Do I want to stay up high in the cove or should the fixture hang down to

standing eye level?

Ideally the chandelier should hang 30-36” above the table.

Thanks for your insights, Christopher. The Deco fixture is one of my favorites, so I'm happy to get a vote for that choice. It's really difficult to find just the right piece...do you have any sources and/or pieces you could recommend? I've spent hours scrolling online and I'm still not super excited about anything...

I don’t like the tapered drum I think a large simple drum shade might work . BTW in a DR the shade should be hung at approx bottom of shade 30” from table top and since you will be seated in the space the view will not be hampered.I would like to see a bit of the rest of the home decor this is not decided in a vacuum. IMO you could do an oversized drum shade but I need some context, I find the chairs a bit on the light weight side for such a heavy table too.

I haven’t seen this, but I think a chandelier that looked like an inverted cove ceiling, kind of like a shield, would be super cool to reflect that shape.

IMO replace the table make sure the new light will be centered on the new table and I like linear lighs above rectangular tables It could be a photo angle but it looks like the light is not centered on the table now. Since it is centered in the eiling the table needs to be right under it or you look for a light that is not symmetrical to fool the eye. Get the newtable and chairs then come back here to get help Please DO NOT start another post just deal with this space here in comments.
