Comments (35)Glad you got your power back! I think something like this could work. If you choose a french door refrigerator I don't think there is much danger of anyone being smacked with the door. Would you consider a microhood? I'm not a big fan of them, but this is a place it might make sense. Here's with a similar layout to yours and the microhood doesn't ruin it. If you didn't have the microwave on that wall you could put a free-standing china cabinet or a shelving unit or anything you wanted there. You could make it less than 24" deep to give you a little more walkway, too. You may want to see if a round table would fit the space a little better. I'm not sure if it would, but you could play with it and see....See MoreAnyone buy online for 2024 yet?
Comments (28)I've more or less given up on online buying. A few reasons - the pandemic forced up prices phenomenally, and a lot of online retailers had to up the shipping prices so much as well - it's off-putting. I found a few good retailers prior to the pandemic, but they were often inconsistent - when I'd go back to them the following year they'd have all sorts of issues which they never had the year before, and things would end up a mess (some even just went out of business as a result). On the other hand, I've made up for it by discovering several wholesale retailers that are local - and buying directly from them. Particularly for fall bulbs. Oddly enough, fall '23 I didn't order any this way - but the previous year I completely added a load of bulbs to my garden this way....See MoreHealthy Lifestyle Progress - Week of 2/11/2024
Comments (29)Oakley hope the medication works. It seems to be working for my DS who has bad bad blood sugar fluctuations and not a great relationship with healthy food. She will be 65 soon enough so I don't think that will change. Shrug. Glad to hear that some of you are doing well with the water. Not I. It seems I can only get down two drinks a day. One is half water half juice and the other one is a cup of ginger tea or decaf coffee. I try to drink another half glass of water in the early evening but always seem to forget. Also I'm not a good protein eater. I think I'm failing in that whole healthy food thing. I fail dismally at replacing the meat for vegetarian protein sources, as I only eat chicken fish and seafood, when I eat animal protein food and often forget to do that. I do eat eggs in the morning and about every third day I add tinned sardines to my faux pho. I love it when I have it but can't have noodle soup everyday. Also I am disappointed that I can't dance my way into muscles.. ;-):-). I have to do more weightlifting so I'm going to try a Zumba with light weights class. I know I need it and if it is successful I will continue to utilize dance with weightlifting. I know they suggest backpacking with weights as well so perhaps I will try that. I suppose I could dance while I am backpacking ;-). Wishing everyone continued success and still totally envious of those who have Pilates in their life. Can't afford it. For some reason can't find a Pilates instruction online that I stick with. So far. ETA this squats improving exercise set. I find this very helpful. https://youtu.be/BqF90pMpjb4?si=VMl19XEFa5C5Ia0E...See MoreHosta 2024 Garden Plans ............................
Comments (29)I want to finally use the BBQ I had put together last year and invite some friends to a BBQ on the patio I haven't used yet. I want to move 2 overly aggressive columbines to their own containers so they don't overshade the hostas in the same container they're in. I want to plant a new Royal Tiara hosta, as mine didn't make it through the move to my house from my apartment balcony. I have already applied weed killer to many of the weeds invading the lawn and rose garden, and the kids next door promised to pull out weeds for me, as one of my prescriptions makes me dizzy to bend over and then straighten up. And, with any luck, the new front door and side door, which I had ordered almost 2 years ago, will finally be installed by a 4th contractor. The first guy hasn't returned calls for 3 weeks, supposedly waiting for his star carpenter to get back to him. The second guy now has 3 hernias and is supposedly retiring, The third guy is not qualified to do advanced framing carpentry. But this 4th guy looks very promising. Wish me luck getting the beautiful new door and storm door installed, after almost 2 years. It's currently leaning against the dining room wall, where it does me a whole lotta good....See Morerouge21_gw (CDN Z5b/6a)
