Beige vinyl is often a huge upgrade - there are a lot of people who would like to have your color issue! :) You can absolutely do white trim with the beige windows. If you think about it's really no different than if the windows were wood. Wood windows and white trim work out perfectly fine and so with the beige/white combination. Exterior is a lil different. White house trim with beige windows isn't always the cutest look. If you want light trim exterior, all you have to do is select a lighter version of the beige on the windows. You can go so light that it almost look white but the harmony is still detectable.

Thanks for the input everyone! We would be doing a similar shade in cabinet paint to the trim paint--both would be shade of white. The trim will be a SW Linen White to match the interior windows--this is not a standard color they carry, it is apparently a special formula they make for Pella (the interior of the windows were pre-painted at the Pella factory). There will be at least 2 places in the kitchen/breakfast/great room area where trim and cabinet would be right against each other, and probably a similar amount of spots in each bathroom. So, I'm thinking from your responses and, given my answers to your questions, I probably should try to match the trim and cabinets--if we do an off-white shade on the cabinet. ontariomom, it's interesting that you feel glaze is not as timeless--I've thought the same thing about the gray, beige, green, etc. painted cabinets that seem so popular right now. My husband and I both really love the weathered or aged look that glaze provides. We did it in our last remodel and were very happy. However, I've heard others in addition to you mention that they feel glaze is not classic or is "out." So, I'm going back and forth on doing what we love (glaze) with chance it may look dated relatively soon, trying a painted "color" cabinet such as light gray or beige, or doing a painted off-white cabinet with no glaze. tcufrog, I'm trying to work with the cabinetmaker to get sample boards, so hopefully that will help the decision!

To phuninthesun (clever). Thanks to you too for the image, and how do you do that? I wish I had a program that lets me mess around with colors, etc. I've been wanting to see it with windows that are white around the edges. I had been considering getting new efficient windows with bronze edges because I could not visualize the white. And it looks so much better with the flower bed and a change in the bushes. What you see is what was here when I bought it. I never would have put a little round bush in that spot. The brick seems to be one-of-a-kind that might have come from another building or buildings, but I don't know. I doubt they did things like that in 1957 when this was built. Here's another photo of the brick at the back--just before I bought the house. I want to add french doors back there and a deck or patio, but haven't had time. Do you think the colors in the photo of the Mediterranean-looking house & patio would work with this house? I love those shades of green & yellow. THANKS again. Why not just use Alabaster? If you want to go lighter than Accessible Beige, then you’re heading into whites anyway. I’m not sure I’d want to add another white to the mix with Dover and Alabaster. I’d pick one of them and I like the look of all one white for wall and trim. Aesthetic white is the shade lighter than Accessible Beige. Or you could choose Dover, but I think it’s nice to have some contrast with cabinets. Dover looks yellow against any white that isn’t a creamy yellow.
