Need help with interior trim color w/ beige vinyl windows

Hello - this is my first post. I've been searching for weeks for a solution to my problem... I'm hoping some of you can help! :-)

We recently purchased a home that is about 20 years old. In preparation for getting it ready to sell, the previous owners had the windows replaced. They chose an almond/beige color (inside and outside). All of the interior trim is currently painted a taupe color that has more pink in it than the greenish-hued windows have. I would love to paint all the trim white, but am not sure if that would even work with almond windows. Does anyone have the same problem? I would love to see photos of almond windows with a white/lighter trim color. Or am I forever locked into taupe crown molding and window trim?. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Beige vinyl is often a huge upgrade - there are a lot of people who would like to have your color issue! :)

You can absolutely do white trim with the beige windows. If you think about it's really no different than if the windows were wood. Wood windows and white trim work out perfectly fine and so with the beige/white combination.

Exterior is a lil different. White house trim with beige windows isn't always the cutest look. If you want light trim exterior, all you have to do is select a lighter version of the beige on the windows. You can go so light that it almost look white but the harmony is still detectable.

I am having a similar problem now with exterior almond/tan vinyl windows. My home was painted 1/4 way around only and stopped them because the paint looked terrible against the faded vinyl. I have been back to the get new samples of paint to try around the windows, but I still can’t find a color that is compatible. My home was built in 78, and I think the windows are probably 90s. I bought the home in 2015. It is currently a beige color with green trim, very blah. I think I may go white, and the trim color I found matches the vinyl on the windows, called French Beige a Behr Marquee color. Then add shutters in the front, or I may need to change out all windows and then I can paint it whatever color I like.

Carly, Over in the Home Decorating Forum they've had lots of discussions about stained wood windows and doors with white or painted trim and vis versa. I don't see why you can't have beige windows and white trim. If that doesn't do it for you, it is possible to paint vinyl so you could paint the interior white and leave the outside beige. Here are pictures: By the way, I am thinking of having beige or tan windows with white or off white painted trim, so I wanted to get a feel for how they would look, too. I think it looks good! Anne

Another vote for BM's Simply White. I have white walls, black walls, gray walls and formerly tannish walls, and Simply White works with all of them. It's just a nice, warm white. I'm also a fan of Dover White, although I've never used it for trim. When I first started researching paint, BM's White Dove was the go-to color for trim. I've never tried it, I'm just throwing that out there. It had the reputation of going with anything.

If you make the other changes as suggested, I don't think you'll feel the need to paint the brick. There's no sense creating a maintenance issue where there is none now. The house has the potential to be very handsome. Some pretty pots with flowers on either side of your door will add some color as well. Don't forget that nothing looks pretty this time of year when trees are bare and lawns are brown.
