Trim, door, porch floor w/bold yellow house?
Comments (4)Fluffeebiskits1, you are a genius. I'm back from the paint store with a large sample board of Mascarpone and I think I am in love. It's great with all the colors and light enough to work with the fixed whites. And now I know what color I'll use next time I repaint my living room! :-)...See MoreMatch cabinet paint color to trim? W/ glaze? No help in Paint Forum
Comments (9)Thanks for the input everyone! We would be doing a similar shade in cabinet paint to the trim paint--both would be shade of white. The trim will be a SW Linen White to match the interior windows--this is not a standard color they carry, it is apparently a special formula they make for Pella (the interior of the windows were pre-painted at the Pella factory). There will be at least 2 places in the kitchen/breakfast/great room area where trim and cabinet would be right against each other, and probably a similar amount of spots in each bathroom. So, I'm thinking from your responses and, given my answers to your questions, I probably should try to match the trim and cabinets--if we do an off-white shade on the cabinet. ontariomom, it's interesting that you feel glaze is not as timeless--I've thought the same thing about the gray, beige, green, etc. painted cabinets that seem so popular right now. My husband and I both really love the weathered or aged look that glaze provides. We did it in our last remodel and were very happy. However, I've heard others in addition to you mention that they feel glaze is not classic or is "out." So, I'm going back and forth on doing what we love (glaze) with chance it may look dated relatively soon, trying a painted "color" cabinet such as light gray or beige, or doing a painted off-white cabinet with no glaze. tcufrog, I'm trying to work with the cabinetmaker to get sample boards, so hopefully that will help the decision!...See MoreWhat color for my room doors/trim/baseboards w/ white painted cabinets
Comments (0)The beach condo has a big LR/kitchen great room. I painted the kitchen cabinets SW Shell White. Walls will be SW Amazing Gray eventually. My BR will be SW Amazing Gray, sis's BR will be SW Mindful Gray. My bathroom will be either SW Jetstream or SW Agua Fria; haven't decided on sis's bathroom yet. Next on the list is painting all the doors, baseboards and trim (door & window). Walls will wait until I have more time than just weekends to paint. In the LR/kitchen area, do I paint the doors/trim/baseboards the same Shell White, or can I choose a different white? The baseboards do run right up to the edge of the cabinets (left and right sides of the kitchen opening) if that matters. I was really wanting to use the same color on all the doors/trim/baseboards if possible so i can save $$ by getting a 5 gallon bucket....See MoreWall paint color for weird trim & door color - please help!
