Glenda, this is your last day as a 69 year old.....
Comments (9)Actually my weepiness seems to have left, for the time being, that is :o) Been to the gym, fixing to do 6 rounds of step climbing, 15 steps X 6 = 90 Gotta take out stuff from my cosmetic bag. Called Airport shuttle to confirm pickup. And watch Food Network finale tonite. I'll make it. Still haven't heard from DS if I can prepare dinner instead of going out. They just bought a new lakehouse and probably out on the water. Thank's Trin, for the thought and the smile you added to my face....See MoreI'll Show your Mine if you Show me Yours
Comments (7)Some of our too-many horses. For a long time we've had a young chestnut mare and an ancient, long-since-retired pasture-buddy mare. However about a month ago my wife decided to move the young horse to a nearby riding facility so she could train and ride it more regularly. That left the old mare alone and lonely, so she asked around, and we got the above two for pasture board. Then a friend moved back to town, and needed somewhere to keep her one of her horses, and just after that the young chestnut mare got a cold, and the barn owner asked us to move it home so the other horses didn't get sick. It was sort-of working with two horses in the front pasture, two in the new back pasture, and the sick horse isolated in the paddock in between, but then one of the horses above figured out how to get out of the back pasture making things even more of a problem....See MoreLast photos of the day
Comments (13)All looking great Jo. Nice subtle dig about posting BC Mine have all just been released from confinement after spending nearly a week under fleece frost protection. Some picture taking was scheduled for today as we have had a few nice warm days this week. Mother nature decided to intervene and it is raining as I type. If it stops I will get out and get a few "raindrop pics" Dave...See MoreToday is National Pet Day! Show yours!
Comments (67)Hardball, these are feral hogs....or at least were. I don't recommend a hog for a pet....maybe a pot belly pig. These get huge. Pig Sue weighed 510 lb. Pig Newton probably over 600 and there is one here that is probably close to 700 lb. They are very smart though and easy to train. Pig Sue was spayed. Another one, Pig Lee, is probably around 475 lb. She can be moody. She is very tame tho and trusts me with her babies... until I tried to pick one up and then she got mad at me. I never wanted to raise pigs. I was given P Sue when she was a baby. P Lee showed up when she was a baby....escapee from a hog hunter down the road but she was too wild to get spayed. By the time I got her tame, she was too big. But it wasn't a problem because there were no boars around. Two years later, Pig Newt showed up...also from the hog hunter and also a baby. They had used him to bait their dogs and he was totally wild. A year or so later, he bred Pig Lee and that is when my trouble began. I have sold about 50 pigs since then. They breed like rabbits. Two litters a year. Pig Newt is too big now to do the deed. I plan to keep him and Lee and their daughter, Pig Delores, but right now I have 9 I need to sell. Jody wants me to sell Delores and Lee but I won't. Delores is wild but she trusts me. I won't sell her. I have had a couple of pot bellies...both rescues. If I had my druthers, I wouldn't have any pigs....and for sure....never a monkey....See MoreSheila z8a Rogue Valley OR
