I love these threads with pet pictures. We have no pets...maybe someday. In the meantime, keep the pictures coming.

The gone-but-not-forgotten Lady, in her Christmas finery one year.

My little turds: brothers named Fafner (gray) and Fasolt (black). We got them last fall, when they were just 8 weeks old, from a rescue organization nearby. Fasolt is so black that he's impossible to photograph, but I chose this photo because you can see how much they love each other. :)

This is Pal, an Austalian Shepherd mix. She was the first dog I ever had as a friend. She was a very good dog, protector, companion and comforter. This was the beginning of a life long friendship with dogs. The year was 1955 or 56 in East Templeton, Mass. I am in the dark coat. My twin sister is in the light one. (Click to enlarge.)

Some of you have seen this pic...this is Little Lil, she turned 7 last December. She is also the love of my life, my best friend, my greatest fan...My first ever pet. I love her so much.

Sissy (grandma) we brought Sissy home from my MIL's house to get her fixed and let her heal. That was in December lol Husband doesn't want to take her back. I don't either but we already have a lot of animals as you can see lol

Theodore and Pookie are our outdoor kitties. They don't belong to us but they think they do and we feed them and love on them.

This is Sarge, our chocolate lab who is getting in in years. We adopted him when he was approximately a year old. We have had him over 10 years. He loves to sprawl (yes he's mostly lying on 2 beds) and gather his toys around him.

Of course you have all met my granddog. My other pet wouldn't come out for a pic, it is tiny and hard to see anyway. That would be my pet spider (as DH calls it) that lives in the corner of the baseboard by the front door. That little guy catches all kinds of bugs that manage to get in somehow. The evidence of his work, legs, wings, etc. litter the floor under his hidy hole. My pet spider is a keeper too.

This is Mary my 12 year old sweetie, a rescue from a shelter.

This is Squeegee my 6 month old Grand-Kitty. I am keeping for a few days while my son is on vacation.

Summer, this is our little Trixie we rescued from a shelter. She was also labeled "not adoptable". She had been abused before being picked up as a stray and was terrified of men. I was avolunteer at the shelter and the second day she was there I sat down outside her cage and started talking to her. She crawled over and after a few minutes she licked my fingers sticking through the cage. I took her home that day and we had her for fourteen wonderful years. She became friends with my DH after a few months but was still afraid of other men.

Granny - Trixie is lovely and that is a beautiful story. Thanks for sharing. I find when you give an animal a "chance" they tend to repay you a hundred fold.............

I love rescue stories. Our 3 cats are all from the Humane Society.

Looking at these pictures is getting me a little teary eyed. haha I love animals so much as you all can see by the farm I have at home. I have even been known to cry at pet food commercials. I'm such a wienie lol

All of your babies are absolutely adorable. I feel like I can see their personalities just by looking at their pictures. We are all so lucky to have them :)

All I can say is we here on KT have the coolest pets anywhere. All are precious.

My sweet Garfield kitty he was over 20 years old when kidney disease took him from me. He was amazing. He loved to lay with Voodi one of our Great Danes. They were besties. I caught them playing kissy face.

He was such a handsome fella. He was never a big kitty he stayed petite.

I have loved seeing everyone's pets. All so adorable and precious! Thank you to all who rescue! I've posted it before, but here is my dog, Tricia, and "Baby", the raccoon she raised.

I don't advocate keeping wild animals for pets...in fact, Baby Coon didn't want anything to do with me. Tricia was her "mother" and I couldn't even handle her after a little while. She was released here (when she was ready to go....I thought she would NEVER be ready....and she is still here. She is now 4 or 5 years old.

This is Pig Newton, who is about 12 now. He isn't a pet that I actually "pet" but I do hand feed him. A friend of mine gets Pepperidge Farms bread donated to her and she gives most of it to me. Pig Newton gets all of the Cinnamon Swirl. The dog in the background is Butter, but can't tell which cat is there with him.

marilyn_c how are pigs as pets? I would love to get one one day. My husband wants a bird or a monkey :\ I've had birds already so I would love a piggy. :)

LOL Jim! What a beautiful cat you have. He looks so comfortable in the other floor photo. His color is just gorgeous. but then I'm partial to the tigers.

All these beautiful cat pictures are making me cry from missing my cats from years ago. Puff, Smokey, Sassy Cat. Blackie..... They were all long lived, beautiful kitties.

Pet people are the kindest people on earth. Thank goodness for the love.

Hardball, these are feral hogs....or at least were. I don't recommend a hog for a pet....maybe a pot belly pig. These get huge. Pig Sue weighed 510 lb. Pig Newton probably over 600 and there is one here that is probably close to 700 lb. They are very smart though and easy to train. Pig Sue was spayed. Another one, Pig Lee, is probably around 475 lb. She can be moody. She is very tame tho and trusts me with her babies... until I tried to pick one up and then she got mad at me. I never wanted to raise pigs. I was given P Sue when she was a baby. P Lee showed up when she was a baby....escapee from a hog hunter down the road but she was too wild to get spayed. By the time I got her tame, she was too big. But it wasn't a problem because there were no boars around. Two years later, Pig Newt showed up...also from the hog hunter and also a baby. They had used him to bait their dogs and he was totally wild. A year or so later, he bred Pig Lee and that is when my trouble began. I have sold about 50 pigs since then. They breed like rabbits. Two litters a year. Pig Newt is too big now to do the deed. I plan to keep him and Lee and their daughter, Pig Delores, but right now I have 9 I need to sell. Jody wants me to sell Delores and Lee but I won't. Delores is wild but she trusts me. I won't sell her. I have had a couple of pot bellies...both rescues. If I had my druthers, I wouldn't have any pigs....and for sure....never a monkey.

A monkey!!!!!!!!!!! Marilyn, that's the last thing you need....LOL, really! So funny.
