How do I fit a double or single garbage pullout under the sink?
Comments (7)I have three pull outs - two directly under the sink and the third immediately to the left of the sink. They are all made the same way - The face is approximately 2' x 16" - the handle at the top pulls directly out like a drawer - attached to the face is the cabinet box with 10" high sides at the front, sloping to 5" at the back. The garbage, a 19" x15" x 10ish" rubbermaid can, sits at the front with shorter objects behind. The sink pipes and garbage disposal are on the same side, so only shorter objects will fit behind the garbage. The second pullout holds recycles - paper, metal, plastics (we have mixed recycles here). THe third houses paper bags, extra cleaning supplies etc. I wish I could take a picture, but still don't really understand how to post a picture. NOTE: from the back of the cabinetry box to the front, before the face, is 25"which may be slightly deeper than normal - the granite extends to 26" on top. I love my pullouts!! and my drawers in the kitchen, oh and my giant single sink, oh and the mix of marble and granite....ooops I'm going off here.......See MoreHow do I know if potential SM fits the bill?
Comments (47)Casper- I would offer to meet with her and if she declined I wouldn't get too offended. She may still be adjusting to the relationship. Honestly as much as I know you hate to hear it there isn't too much you can do in this situation. Even if the woman is a cruddy person do you think your Ex would stop seeing her just because you didn't give her your stamp of approval? I'm not trying to be nasty here at all, I just don't think there is alot you can do unless the woman can be proven dangerous. You are going to worry yourself sick over a relationship you are powerless to hault. I know you are concerned but this is a losing battle. If you get to pokey in the relationship you will come off as the "bitter ex" and then the relationship between you and the GF will be forever icky. Give it a little time. It may turn out that you were worried over nothing. Dealing with the ex and children from previous marriages can be uncomfortable for some folks, that goes DOUBLE if they have never dated a person with pre-existing children. When I started dating my now husband I had never dated a previously married man who had kids. It took me a little while to figure out what my role was and how to deal with his Ex wife. She was a nightmare to top it all off so it was a really tuff time for me. Maybe the new GF is having some uncertainties on how to deal. Maybe you scare her even...who knows. Relax and give it some time. Maybe she won't even be around that much longer........See MoreHow can I make a dining table fit in this space.
Comments (24)We had a drop wall table in our kitchen years ago...loved it. We could put it up in the wall when we needed more space and down when we ate or worked on the flat surface. Our table was big enough to seat 3 people comfortably and four if we wanted to get close together....See MoreMy sod lawn looks anemic. How do I get it dark green again?
Comments (4)You cannot get a quick spring green up unless there is heat, sunlight, and plenty of reserve nutrition in the plant roots. You cannot affect the heat and sunlight but you can recharge the plant's roots by fertilizing in the late fall. Specifically once the grass stops growing but before it goes dormant, hit it with a fast release, high N fertilizer. This is called 'winterizing' the lawn. If you wait until early spring to apply fertilizer, the roots have not awakened yet and the fertilizer washes away. At this point all you can do is wait until the grass awakens. Once it does, sit on your hands until May or late May. The grass should come in fast and fairly furious for several weeks all by itself. If you fertilize early as it's greening, you'll stress the grass with too much nutrition. That's why we wait. The organic fertilizer is very good at making your soil microbes healthy. When they are healthy the soil does what it is supposed to do with both plants and chemicals you apply. You can apply organic fertilizer any day of the year, even on the same day as you apply chemical fertilizers. I don't use chemical fertilizers anymore. Here's a picture of what happens when you apply alfalfa pellets (an ingredient in many organic fertilizers). You can see the improved color, density, and growth. Thanks to mrmumbles for posting this picture many years ago. The alfalfa was applied in mid May and the picture was taken in mid June. Does that help? Yes the organic will help. Now is a great time to apply organic. Where do you live? What kind of grass do you have? What is your watering schedule? How often and for how long do you water?...See Morela_la Girl
