Comments (2)Can the loveseat by the front door replace the chair, creating an L shaped seating area? If you can move the coffee table in front of the other loveseat, I wonder if you'll have a clear pathway from the front door to the closet to the hall (?) door....See MoreAwkward Open Concept Living Room, Dining Room, and Kitchen Layout
Comments (4)I will look to see if I have a floor plan, but if not, how would i go about creating one for you. I know I sound like an idiot but obviously I am clueless as to this kind of stuff and wish my husband would just let me hire a decorator lol! However, he just now gave me another big fat NO to hiring one lol! So needless to say, I am going to have to learn how to do this on my own and asking for help, however annoying I may be, is the only thing I know to do! So I apologize in advance for my ignorance! I will look for the floor plan! Thanks for responding!...See MoreFurniture Layout in long, narrow living room
Comments (7)I see. I wasn't sure where the other door way was. Yes, I think two sofas and two armchairs would work. The problem with sectionals is that they really don't seat as many people as you would think, because adults generally like to have their own "space" and no one wants to sit in the corner or the middle. Ideally you would want the walk way from the the door to the sun room door clear. But because of the off center placement of the fire place and your need to seat larger groups, you may have to bend the rules a bit. How about scooting the window sofa up a bit, to get a more centered arrangement? Sofa tables and consoles are great to stash ottomans underneath for extra casual seating. How would something like this work for you? It will comfortably seat six adults, eight snugly and nine if you count the ottoman as a casual perch. When shopping for sofas, look for a bench seats. They're a little easier to smush people onto because they don't have any cracks....See MoreHelp me arrange furniture with this awkward living room layout
Comments (6)Thanks for your feedback! As of now I don’t have any specific furniture purchased but have been looking. My main goal is to utilize both “living” spaces in the most functional, aesthetic way possible. I don’t want a bunch of wasted floor space and I want it to be cohesive/flow well so it just doesn’t seem like a random desk placed in a large room. I also was curious as to whether the way the sofa/chairs are arranged works for this room or if something like a sectional would be appropriate. Or if rearranging where the sofa/chairs would work better in relation to the fireplace/TV. Would love to update the fireplace (planning on a new mantle for sure) and decor in general, and make it more like some of these living rooms from my idea books. My goal is to achieve a coastal-modern feel, with richer woods and navy versus pastels and driftwood. Thanks for the tip on providing measurements - I’m new to this kind of software so I was sort of trudging my way through it :) I will try to get more accurate measurements ASAP....See MoreCelery.
