johnliu, I am trusting my GC on the ventilation issue. Since it is under a covered roof, code & sense requires it be vented. I have been so obsessively focused on the indoor stuff, that this has been on the back burner. I need to clarify with him about what this ventilation will look like. I trust his integrity and knowledge, but I hadn't thought about how it would look exactly. Good question! Upon further thought on this whole space, I think all I really need out there is the grill and the sink. Maybe a stainless steel cabinet under the sink, a set of drawers for grilling equipment and kebob sticks, and a cabinet for trash. I think most of the designers are talking about a true "outdoor" kitchen, which I don't need. I just need an outdoor grilling area with counter space. We are big homebodies and have small get togethers with friends and family, so I don't need all that extra stuff for my lifestyle. Thanks for the extra gas stub idea. I think that's an ideal solution!

This post was from many many years ago. But I still don't know the answer. I bought a nice used Viking stainless steel 4 burner cooktop that I want to use in my outdoor kitchen. It is under a roof but wind will definetly drive rain and snow so that the range will get wet occasionally. I also plan to cover it when not in use. So.... what is the downside? I'm not going to call the manufacturer... they'll say "no" and that they make a line of outdoor kitchen appliances. Many years ago I installed an expensive under counter mini fridge. It was meant for indoors but after 6 years it was still going strong. I moved 5 years ago and for all I know it's still going strong.

We are doing a backyard remodel and building an outdoor kitchen. We’re researching on 26” outdoor grill and a double burner to buy. So whatever brand we choose for the grill, we will buy the same for the double burner. The more important item is the grill, and we are looking for something $2000 and below. What are your thoughts on AOG and Delta Heat for the 26” grill? Any other brands to consider that make great 26” grill?
