Bathroom sinks/vanity are IN bedroom, not bathroom- HUH?
Comments (30)My parents house is like that, but there’s a wall with a wide doorway into the area with the vanity, so it’s open but also easy to close off by just putting a curtain rail up. It’s also oriented to the room such that if you only use enough light at the vanity to wash your hands for a midnight potty run, it really isn’t enough to bother someone in the bed if you place the bed sensibly. Getting ready in the morning would be trickier if you needed to do makeup and so on so needed proper lighting, so that’s where a screen or a curtain would come in....See MoreKohler Verticyl Oval under-mount bathroom sink
Comments (6)Thanks Jules8 for your feedback. I'm not too picky about spotting. This will be a bathroom used daily. I am glad to hear that there isn't splashing. I will be using a single hole Hansgrohe faucet. Thanks for the info about the slope, and as you've indicated it seems too shallow. I have a limited space for the sink in my vanity and this one provides a lot of interior space within the confines of my cabinet. If I decide to get another sink I will have to call the cabinet maker to double check the tolerance I have. The look of this sink is really nice though and I probably will stay with it....See MoreBathroom sink size and cabinets that hold them?
Comments (7)I also want the Memoirs but decided it's too large. I don't want a "deep" vanity ... we rented a beachfront condo once with a "deep" vanity, and it took me a few days to figure out why I found that sink set-up uncomfortable. The sink you're proposing is large ... but large isn't really a necessity in a bathroom. The (oval) sinks in my current house are roughly 18" wide x 14" deep ... and they're just average in size. With depth being a concern, I'd recommend you go with a smaller sink. Personally, I've already selected the Kohler Devonshire, which is about the size of the sinks I have now. Of course, it's an oval, and the rectangle may be what's driving you ... it's the ridges that I like. I know you're thinking about cleaning around the faucet. You've chosen a single-stalk faucet to minimize this job. Consider going a step further: a wall mounted faucet. It would free up space and make cleaning the countertop easier....See MoreEscutcheon under bathroom sink
Comments (27)I think the problem is that those boot things etc don't have enough wide opening to fit the middle part of this installation. The opening seems to be 1.5 inches but then the fittings after are 2 inches, then the final part is 3 inches (which usually is covered by the plate). The other side of the wall is the kitchen which is now finished and all cabinets are up. On the plumbing forum, there was a lot of advice (but hard for me to understand) but one person said this "He used the WRONG fittings at the wall so they project out too far. Have him come back and redo it properly. He is not a very competent plumber if he doesn't know which fittings he needs." Which to me seems like he used what he had in his truck instead of what would work for this particular job. I will send the picture to a plumbing supply house if this stalls to nothing and I'm sure I can order in right fittings and have them redo it for me....See More
