Sounds like a personal problem to me (pure snark). Seriously, I’m on my iPad and not having any problems (you know, I’ve just jinxed myself)

I cannot see them on my Ipad, but can on my Iphone???? I do not use the app on either, just have them bookmarked. The Ipad is older, 2014. My phone is only a couple years old

I’m back to normal now but for a few days the typing alphabet did not show when I was going to respond to a post. Therefore I couldn’t write anything. I was able to overcome this by typing elsewhere ( diary on my Iphone ) then copy and paste to this forum. Glitches abound.

LOL on the snark, but it very well could be a personal problem, which is why I asked. :)

Sherry, my iPad is a bit older, too, but I didn't update anything, and power cycled, tried other browsers, etc. Sigh.

Everything works fine on laptop but on phone there are various glitches. If typing doesn't show, I find that pressing submit then going back in to edit will allow you to complete a post. Posts with several pictures often disappear before they can be submitted.

seabreeze was asking this same question on another forum I frequent. She's having the same problem.

I had the problem too and finally realized last night that the problem was only on my ipad, and still is. :p

Seagrass has had the same problem since Monday. She can't even start a new discussion. She's on a laptop.

Now I wonder if this is a browser issue or OS issue. I just bothered to view the source for this page and it definitely isn't pretty. Then I had to do a quick search on the ipad to learn that I'd need to install an app just to view the page source there, and I decided I was done with researching it. lol! When I initially realized that it was failing on the ipad, my first thought was that they're using a non-standard tag. I wonder if they'll bother to research and fix it.

Same problem here on Macbook. Could not see comments on Safari, but could on Chrome. Just update Safari, and can now see comments on my Macbook.

Still happening. Desktop, not apple, okay. Iphone okay. Ipad mini not working. I think they have let the babies play with the programing. For now I will put up with this. Much more, and I am gone.

DH has built a few forums and websites and he said this issue is from them not testing changes on all platforms.

Same problem here. I'm at my laptop now, but it's not convenient.

At Eileen's suggestion, I updated Safari on my MacBook and am now able to view all of the comments and respond again.

I think my come and go glitches on my Windows laptop are analogous to the solvable problems a lo tof you mentioned. Also, that, given so many with iPad issues, Eileen (and her DH) are right that it's an issue with the platform. Since I use a browser (as many of you probably do as well) on the iPad, it should just display the website. It's hanging up on displaying the comments, however. This is happening the same way in five different browsers. It may be due to a older OS, but it shouldn't.

Interestingly, however, if any devs are monitoring this: I let the choose an interest popup go. When it turns up, it tells me that the index page has refreshed. It is also missing now on my iPad.

Since the posting problems seem to be with Apple products so often, maybe the first thing to do is check for a Safari update.

Eileen, The Iphone is fine. The I pad is not. both are up to date.

I'm mostly using an iMac, OS13 - occasionally an Android phone - and this reminded me of a glitch I've had more than a few times of late on the computer - I click to open a thread, and there are no replies, just a blank page after the OP, so I reload and then they show up. I've had it happen to whole forums as well, getting the message 'no posts', and they appear after reloading as well.

I don't use Safari, tho, mostly Firefox, and Chrome on my phone.

And I automatically install updates on everything.

One thing I've learned to do when using this site is to reload - and check URLs. I feel like the houzz URL is glitchier than g'web - or maybe it's vice versa??? 🤔

It may be in the Apple webkit. All browsers on iPad iOS have to use it.

plllog, you would suspect the platform software before the developer's? lol! It seems that houzz doesn't care that it doesn't work. Looking at the lack of page rendering on my ipad, it reminds me of the symptoms that occur when there's a missing or improperly nested end tag! :p

I meant that rather than it being an issue of Safari not working with Gardenweb/Houzz, since I have a lot of browsers and they're all behaving in the exact same way, and since all of the ones I have, at least, are built on the iPad toolkit, making them more alike than different, it's more accurate to suspect that the mismatch is there. There are a LOT of weird mismatches happening to a variety of apps in iPadland now. It's likely that they're all dev side, especially since my OS hasn't been deprecated but isn't the latest release. But there's something weird happening all this month...

But LOL on the end tag! Especially remembering back to when we could make our posts in HTML, and break the rendering of the whole page for everyone with a missing close. :D

I've seen where the error is in the draw on my Windows laptop. There's a stall and hiccup in the drawing of the thread right after it posts the OP plus Featured, then it shakes itself like a wet dog and draws a few posts then shivers and shows the whole thread. On the iPad it stops at the first stall.

omg, I had forgotten that they once allowed a limited set of html tags in posts! It's been quite a while, hasn't it? lol!

Well. Good to know, PM, but I'm not updating my OS until I have to get a new iPad, and I don't want to do that!! Knowing that they've cut off everybody else to accommodate the newest OS does not endear H to me...
