Any ideas about what to do with gallstones during pregnancy??
Comments (10)I do have someone that comes in on Thursday's to help with the kids. She also does some cleaning and laundry for me. I have Dr.'s appointments every 2 weeks from now on out so have made those on Thursday's so I don't have to take the kids with me. Last week was the first time, and it was nice to have someone entertain the kids and help with picking up. I got to go and pick peaches, apples and pears to make baby food for the new little one and pick up groceries without 3 helpers in tow. My mil also offered to come over once a week and my mom has been trying to come up once a week. So even though it is going to be a long 2 and a half months the help will be appreciated. I tried in May to find someone to come in during the week for a few days or afternoons and couldn't find anyone interested in helping out, even high school girls or college girls home for the summer. I will post picks, but I am so big this time around and my stomach is hard as a rock and stretching like crazy, I hate to think of how much extra skin I will have after the baby is born. After the baby is born, I will have to wait 6 weeks and have to have gallbladder surgery and will be out of commission for a few more weeks. I am definately not looking foreward to 2 surgeries so close together, but I am not going to keep dealing with the gallbladder attacks if I don't have to. Comments (33)Jan, I admit I haven't read every single post but most of them. I've read enough to see myself in some of your postings. Have you looked up the symptoms of progesterone overload/overdose? Has your dr checked your progesterone level? You probably have multiple issues going on that need addressed...WHERE TO START? I hope you can find a Dr or naturopath(sp?) that has all the answers. Bless your heart. Hormones rule! Srsly, they rule our bodies! I just have two little pieces of advice. Your anxiety level and depression aren't helping. They're exacerbating your symptoms and your ability to focus and heal and to even find someone to help. Have you considered having your dr prescribe something like Celexa to help with your anxiety and depression? Just till you can find some help and get some relief. My daughter rarely sees a traditional Dr for herself, her husband or the children. They all go to an iridoligist. I have been utterly amazed at what she has done for them and issues she has alleviated. I have to share this even tho it isn't related to your issues. DD was having gallstone, liver and kidney stone symptoms. She already knew her system took a hit with all the paint, stain and polyurethane fumes she inhaled while they were building their house (she did all the paint, stain and poly in their all wood floor 2600sq ft house). A couple of weeks ago, she started a gallbladder and liver cleanse which was to include passing of the gallstones. I kept my mouth shut and waited till she couldn't see my face before rolling my eyes (g) The protocol included apple cider vinegar and EVOO. Other products but that's what I remember. After one week of treatment the instructions were to NOT leave the house for that day as the elimination of gallstones will begin! I will spare you the pictures but she started passing gallstones by the 1/2 cup full and it lasted over half the day. They looked like crumbled, cooked hamburger meat :o She said she's never felt better! She's now working on her kidneys but I don't know if that includes passing of stones. Her iridologist told her these areas were in distress and offered plans/products to help. I'm sure not all iridologist are created equal (as all Drs aren't) but perhaps if you could find a highly reputable one, he/she could help. Good luck!...See MoreAnyone else now have digestive problems, feeling sick after meals?
Comments (2)I have a similar reaction.. I may feel really hungry but then start to eat and can only eat very little. Often I have a lot of gas pain etc. after eating. I used to eat whatever I wanted as well with no worries but when my other menopause symptoms developed, the nausea and eating issues surfaced as well. I also developed a sudden intolerance of beer and wine to the point of feeling very sick ( headaches, nausea etc) the next day. I can tolerate a bit of whiskey but I really just avoid alcohol now. I also developed issues with burping which I never had before as well! I have had a full gastrointestinal workup and no issues have shown up. The Dr decided to slap me with a diagnosis of IBS-C because of the constipation that has also developed. I would however as suggested above, see a gastroenterologist just to be sure. However you are certainly not alone in these changes. Menopause has been a crazy ride and I can see why they call it "The Change"!...See MoreGallbladder/Gallstones
Comments (19)ont_gal It is a good thing that you had your gall bladder removed in 1977. In 2012 (I live in Ontario, Canada) I had an ultrasound for something I did not have (thankfully) but the ultrasound did show gall stones - how many and how big I was not told and neither was my primary doctor. I have never had an attack - and it is now 2018 and I am a senior citizen (well in age...). I wrongly assumed I would be able to have my gall bladder removed before it became an issue. Apparently in Ontario you can't have just the gall stones removed (I have been watching too much U.S. TV). I even managed somehow to contact the office of Toronto's main gall bladder doctor and was told that I was right that it would be better to have it dealt with at the time rather than to wait for an attack. But that OHIP would not cover the cost. Of course it is now considered a pre-existing condition for travel insurance and I am obsessed with it! I do know the signs - my doctor said to pay attention to sharp pains in the area of the belly button or to symptoms resembling a heart attack. Many people go to Emergency thinking they are having a heart attack when in fact they are suffering a gall bladder attack - but that the gall bladder does not need to be removed immediately - as in the person is not turning yellow. So they are given a letter to give to their primary GP who then in turn will make a referral to a specialist - which in Ontario you know how long that would take. Of course Murphy's Law being what it is, people who have been through the Emergency heart attack/really a gall bladder attack do not go to Emergency the next time they present with heart attack symptoms and of course they are having a heart attack. I hate the fact that when I have a cold and really cough etc. that I can get pains in my side - or I pull a muscle etc. I realize that I could die before I have a gall bladder attack, but still it is a pain in the neck and I wish that I did not know I have gall stones. I have had an acid based kidney stone and that was a "treat". Neither I nor my husband are a drain on OHIP's services. We go once a year to the doctor. I have one prescription, he has 2 only for eye drops and that is it. I can't take meds for cold/flu etc. so that pretty much wipes out everything and I do not have high b.p. or cholesterol. That is my sad story. I am happy that you do not have to worry about the issue. If I were 20 then I could understand not removing the stones but the entire gall bladder in case the stones returned, but being past 65 I would prefer to take my chances....See More- 2 years agolast modified: 2 years ago
