The inside of the door, should be painted to match the inside trim. In your case the same white as your trim. Inside and outside of the door dont have to be the same color.

Ok, so just the BM semi gloss white. That makes it easy! Our siding is white, and we love gree, so the off-black Chine Green should look really cool on the outside.

And for sheen of outer front door - semi-gloss or high-gloss?

I would use semi gloss, but, that is totally up to you. Some like a very high gloss finish.

Can you show a pic of the outside of your house to help us comment on the gloss factor? I do love a black green. I concur with painting the inside of the door the same color as your trim.

make sure it's a good exterior paint meant for doors. the gloss will hold up better to the elements.

I think a dark blue gray would be pretty on the interior. maybe a color pulled from that rug?

I have no idea . I need to see the exterior of the house for sure .Inside the rug in no way suits the door so I guess I need to see the interior too. Post the pics here in a comment DO NOT start another post.

Using the same white as the trim is a good, but safe, choice. I would get some samples (Samplize) of the suggestions from Beth. A pretty gray to complement your inside wall color will make the door prettier and more a part of the decor.

No need to be “safe” choosing white for the inside color of your front door. I think your dark green color will look great painted inside and out. I got a new front entry door, and we painted it inside and out with color: “ Baby Spinach”, I needed a pop of color for my light gray house siding. I have a ThermaTru Smooth fiberglass door and chose a satin finish, satin sheen is forgiving for any paint flaws. Gloss and semi gloss sheens are less forgiving. Best of luck on your journey!

Kculbers baby spinach looks great inside. Although the wall color and trim are the same as the OP’s, there are so many differences too. The OP’s hall has a ton of ornate trim around multiple doors, multiple rooms opening into the space, and very ornate windows on the door. I think there is a lot to look at here already, where as the baby spinach is in an otherwise quite bare looking space.

Are you using any accent colors in adjacent room inside! You could go in several directions if you want some pizzaz!!

I don't think Chine Green would look good with the Beacon Gray so I vote for white or a darker gray for the interior of the door. I love the Beacon Gray by the way.

Sorry for the delay, been a crazy few days! Outside of the house (colonial) is white siding, with black shutters. Would prefer not to share a pic of the front of the house (but perhaps we'll post one). The bricks on the front porch and walkway are a medium gray color. The lower part of the house has vertical siding, while the garage/upper part of the house have horizontal siding (all white).

For the room that's to the right when you first enter has lots of blues - that's why we initially painted the front door blue (both sides). But we ended up hating it lol.

I know we definiltey have our heart set on the Chine Green for the outer front door. Inside, we are open to either white to match the trim/other inner doors, or perhaps a grey that would work well with the Beacon Gray walls you see there.

The front door also has a glass storm door, so the paint color should hold up well. We are thinking either a satin or semi-gloss at this point, but still open to pointers.
