Replace 3/4” hardwood/carpet with 5/8” engineered hardwood

I have about 1,700 square feet of flooring I’m about to replace. The current thickness of the floor/carpet is 3/4”. I’m considering replacing all of it with an engineered hardwood that is 5/8” because it is 3$ per sq foot cheaper. I’m also replacing all of the baseboards. The floor goes through my kitchen with cabinets that I’m not changing as part of this project. My installers say that I’d be fine going with the 5/8” but I’m a little nervous about the extra 1/8” this would cause around doorways and cabinets that are all installed over 3/4”. Has anyone done this before and is there anything I need to consider?
