Dining Room Table Update - where to go from here?
Comments (36)I really like it. I don't think it is too beige at all. A couple of things you should keep in mind is that it will look totally different once you get an area rug under your dining set, some beautiful art on your walls, your dishes and other items in your built-ins, maybe a runner on your table and then all of your other accessories. Those are places where you can really pull in some color - as much, or as little, as you want! I think it is going to look ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Oh, and as far as the rug is concerned, people are mixing and matching ALL kinds of patterns these days. Take your time, look at all different styles, colors and patterns of rugs and wait for something that really makes your heart go pitter-patter! :0) Then you'll know! I will probably be away for the next few days, but I will check back in soon. Hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed Christmas! ~Addy~...See MoreLiving room suggestions - TV placement, couch/chair style/layout?
Comments (8)Their current lay out block traffic flow. I would much rather go with a love seat and a few comfy chairs. How many in your family. That is how many seats you need. The rest is over kill and does anyone actually FILL a huge sectional or do three people use it? I am just not a fan. As for the TV placement, most want a visual of both the fireplace and the TV so your plan seems to be a decent option. The built in would be worth looking at...It is ironic how often the MOSTLY unused fireplaces everyone desires really messes with furniture arranging. Your new floors are to die for. This gray fad confuses me. Gray is cold, like stainless. Your kitchen and flooring are so warm and rich looking. Half your new space is painted warm the other cool... Which colors will you embrace?...See MoreWhere should the coffee table go (before and after pics of room)
Comments (7)A very large square coffee table pushed a bit further away from where you have it now should help. One with a bottom shelf like the one you have but a clear glass top with a metal surround would look nice. I really like your new curtains. I also like the painting but it's probably too small for that area, which can accommodate quite a large one, although perhaps with the same color tones which brighten up this room. The carpet unfortunately is not such a good match with the curtains and the painting, and I would suggest something like a beautiful Oriental or other patterned carpet that has some blues in it. You can pick up the blues from the curtains and rugs, and perhaps some green to finish off your pretty room. A small table with a lamp next to the armless sofa would be a nice addition....See Morehelp!!! I need to choose a colour to go in my living-room /dining-room
Comments (25)Sounds like a fireplace re-do might be a longer-term fix. In the meantime, I'd paint the mantle a dark brown, a similar colour to your end tables. It's not trim and shouldn't be white. It pops out too much in the white colour. Another idea that doesn't involve any ripping-out is to go right over the existing mantle using a mantle slipcover in wood. Here's one of many how-to's on the internet. If you stained your brick as well, you could have a whole new look. https://www.fwmadebycarli.com/2011/01/making-of-slip-covered-mantel.html...See Moreffpalms
