white built in in condo with warm colors

My current entertainment wall is a combination of 30 year old ikea units (Bonde and Billy). I want to replace it with a custom built from floor to ceiling with a 65 inch frame tv (the ones displaying a painting) in the center. Kitchen cabinets are light beech (ikea) and the rest is beech or white oak. The company which i will hire to do the built in is Store-x and they have many color options/finishes available including white oak.
However i am leaning towards white as i fInd the current unit looks a bit too imposing. To tie the white built in together with the rest of the furniture i was thinking of adding some of the white oak color in the form of the top for the base cabinets and perhaps some additional shelves in white oak instead of white.
I have the following questions:

  1. will white be a good choice or do i have to do the unit in white oak?
  2. how do i tie the Two colors together (white vs white oak/beech)?
Adding shelves in white oak or adding white oak as the background panel or both?
  3. the background wall is yellow. Will white on yellow look good or should i paint the background wall white?
