Dawn, I am a righty. I don't think it would matter with a rectanglesink, you could place them whereever you wanted. We had to place the faucet, control and side spray to the right since there was more room between the sink and the backsplash also tried to minimise that the sink was not centered exactly on the center of the window. So get a piece of plywood - trace your sink profile and cut holes for the faucet etc in it for placement and put it where your sink will be-and set the pieces in it to see if you like it- thats what we did. I love having one control lever instead of two knobs. Also I like not having to twist a faucet handle- now I have arthritis in both thumbs and this is way easier. Something we didn't count on just a year ago! Thanks for the compliment on the kitchen, I am very proud of DH, he did it all with the exception of installing the granite. we bought the cabs. Divamum- my backsplash is painted beadboard and behind the range is tin ceiling tile painted (leftover from a dear friends ceiling!) Sue

I'm following as well. We've had the trinsic tub/shower trim kits in our bathrooms for about a month. Jury is still out. The finish seems spottier (is that a word?) than I'd like and the tub faucet feels a bit cheaper than I'd like. I haven't touched the trinsic kitchen faucet yet.

I ended up here, because I'm redoing my kitchen and trying to make a decision about the faucet. I have various faucets throughout my house from Kohler, Moen, Restoration Hardware, and Newport Brass. I think the Restoration Hardware fixtures are made by Newport Brass, because we had to call them when we needed to replace. We've had them from 10-12 years, so I don't know the styles or even if they are made. Almost all are polished nickel, and the Kohler and Moen are always spotless, laundry room and bathroom, respectively. I'm not crazy about the pull down sprayer on the Kohler. The Moen Showcase (do they still make this line?) is in the bathroom, and I love it so much, because I can just pour water over it and it will dry spotless. It's amazing. It is wall mount, and I wish I had it in every bathroom. Because of my success with Moen, when I needed a faucet for my kitchen, I bought an inexpensive (relative to all the other faucets I have) Moen at Home Depot. It is the only non polished nickel faucet I have. It is stainless steel, still looks brand new (10 years+), and the pull down sprayer works wonderfully. Unfortunately, I'd never buy fixtures from Restoration Hardware again. They spot like crazy. The Newport Brass are slightly better, but they also spot. I'm looking at Kohler and Moen for my new kitchen, but the choices are limited in polished nickel. Now I'll look at California Faucets, too, but I'll skip Rohl, since someone mentioned the polished nickel spots so much.

Hey All, Rohl distributor here. That is definitely the Tuscan Brass finish that does live/change over time. You can speed up the process when you buy a new one by touching it alot or wiping it down with soap and water often to quicken the pace. Rohl was purchased by Fortune Brands, which has changed some of their distribution over the last couple years, but the items are still made in Italy. In our market, about half of the issues are installer related because they are not the Delta quick connect installations. To acheive this look would be hard in any mainstream brand. Waterstone is fantastic! I have been their facilty in CA. They also have a Tuscan finish that changes, but again, it would still be different. In my experience there are certainly issues with higher brands, but they always take care of you. It's just not at an Amazon pace. Unlacqered Brass is going to be bright and shiny, and will also turn, but I don't think they would ever look the same (TCB that had changed and ULB that had changed). I would stick to TCB finish and maybe even purchase "Brass Ager" on Amazon and test on the underside of a flange or something. Or buy a soap dispenser to test it out on that wouldn't be costly to replace. Enjoy!
