Time for an update on my surgery

I cant believe it has only been nine days since my surgery. It seems much longer than that. As many of you know there are some good and not so good days. Today was rough as they added some new positions to my pt routine. I have had someone with me all the time except for last night. My oldest daughter's husband is having a painful and frightening prostate problem so she left here (I encouraged her to go) and went to the beach where they still are. He was at the beach when his problems started. So, reinforcements were called and daughter # 2 stepped in. She had to leave last night to go to work. tomorrow daughter #3 is coming for the day and my local grand daughter will come also.

I have been using a walker and making good use of all the meals in the fridge and freezer. I have one more week of home pt then I have to go out. The pain meds are doing their job for the most part. Just want to say that someone (you know who you are) made my day today when my granddaughter brought me my mail. I can't tell you how much it means to know you are in someone's thoughts. You are very kind. Hope everyone is well.

That all sounds good Satine, I think you must be right on track. Please keep putting the effort into the PT, its going to be worth the discomfort you are feeling and will make all the difference in the world. One day at a time - and just look how far you've come now! It's a shame there were other family needs right on top of yours, we don't always get the choice to plan some of these things. But hang in there, keep resting to build your strength back up. And thank you so much for giving us the updating - you've been on all our minds.

Zeffy, I'm so glad Robyn is feeling better - one day soon she'll realize how much better life is without this man (if you can call him a 'man')and be truly happy again. Now we just need you well! I loved our conversation yesterday; when DH came home I told him we'd talked and he agreed, we need you next door. No summer heat, seldom snow...we'd just have to figure out something for your roses to make them happy in cool coastal weather. Be sure to let us know how your next appointment turns out - everyone here is praying for you. Kathy, I hope you are mending too - what a winter this has been. Do you realize you are leaving a lot to our imaginations by not telling us how you managed to sprain both ankles :) I'm picturing bungee jumping myself...

Hi Gramsharon, Wow another brug lover from Minnesota. I live between St. Paul and Hudson WI. I lurk here and have only been able to read stuff every couple weeks. It was in the 40's here yesterday so I imagine you had some nice weather also. I got wonderful, wonderful cuttings from people here last fall. Mine are still rooting in water but I am going to start potting them up soon (I hope). In Feb. I was hoping to start the Datura seeds I received but haven't gotten to that yet. Our beautiful weather is just a short time away, but I am very envious of everyone in a warmer climit. Have a speedy recovery and Hi to everyone else. Trude

Update on DH's Surgery

Roy is home! He did well during the night without the assistance of any breathing devices. His oxygen levels were excellent and the nausea has gone except for getting a little car sick on the way home from the hospital.....about 30 miles. A sleep study will be done some time soon but the feeling is the apnea was caused from the morphine post operatively. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

Great that you have good reports, Glenda. I hope that the healing goes well with no complications. I haven't heard "hunky dory" in many years, that I can recall - perhaps since I heard Dad use it when I was a kid. I spent little time with Dad after I left home at about 19 ... just before his second marriage, though that didn't have a connection. ole joyful

So glad you have your DDs helping you. 9 days can be an eternity when pain is involved and healing is involved. Hope everything is okay with dd1s DH! Hugs.
