OT Surgery Surgery and more Surgery Please Pray.

Hey all I miss all of you very much and I know the SS stuff is a bunch of fun,and I will get back to it but I have my hands full.Tootie was suppose to have surgery today,well we found out Mike my son has to have his back surgery today,I changed Tooties surgery so it is now gonna be Tuesday.I have to pick Mike up at 8:00 o'clock this morning and take him to the hospital in Greenville so please be praying for Mike.

Also got a Grandbaby due in Ga.anytime.

Sorry to cut off my up-date post so quickly, but I had a sudden wave of nausea so I ate some toast and laid back down again :O This a.m. I am still in some pain and my stomach is still the size of a basketball from swelling...part of which is due to left over CO2. I received 4 incisions vs just 3 and not sure why. Am currently eating a little oatmeal to get a little more bulk in my stomach before taking another "happy pill" :). Since surgery all I've consumed is toast and juice in recovery and jello and toast last night....a lot of water and 7up too. Doc said I should be up and doing what I was doing before surgery, but I don't even closely see that just yet LOL! I can hardly stand straight, but yesterday evening before checking in with you all, I toted around my small watering can giving a drink to Mondays planted out seedlings, container flower plantings and in-ground carrots. If I'm feeling froggy this afternoon I'll get to the container cucumbers and peppers just outside the door. We will be up in the 90's from Saturday thru Monday, but I think by the morning of Friday I should be able to tote around my hoses and sprinkler. I'm taking it slow and being a good patient, listening to my body. I can't do everything that I used to yet, but it's way better than using that cane, walker and wheelchair that are sitting in the corner! I've taken up painting old furniture and am having a blast! I've learned how to make chalk paint and am creating my own wax stains and paint colors with tints and white paint, so fun! So far I've painted an old childs' ladder back chair -yellow, an old oak mirror, silver and gold, and my bathroom vanity, to match the mirror. I've also painted my heavy wooden microwave cabinet, white, for my daughter. I've started stripping an oak cedar chest in the garage. I also found 2 french country coffee tables for $20! I plan to paint them too. I'm also slowly clearing out my gardens from last years' dead grass. The soil is so deep and soft from all the years' of compost and horse manure. Little by little. My gardens went to weeds last year, but hopefully, by summer time, they will be beautiful again! Margaret, you are in my prayers for a full recovery. Keep smiling and praising God for how far you've come and you'll get there! I am so aware of His healing hand on me, I just marvel in His mercy and love!

Well, I'm presently working on the stump of a diseased austrian pine we had to take down last year. We hoped it would rot on its own but it didn't happen. I realize I could smother it in rock salt, but I figure there's enough problems with our soil - a large lot with pines and maples - needles everywhere. So I don't want to add to the problems. Someone from America suggested setting it on fire but you know how Toronto is - there are bylaws against so much as blowing your nose. I'm just cutting and cutting at it. Yesterday (in that marvelous 11 celsius weather) I worked on it for about 3 hours - praise be for Ben Gay and Tylenol for Arthritis. This is the toughest job on the lot right now, so I'd like to have it out of the way before my gardening season starts. Once it's out, completely clean of its extraneous roots, I want to put in mulched leaves, level it out, add some organic soil and plant some juniper clippings I've been raising all winter. I put the clippings into small containers outside the window around the middle of October. They have remained green all winter so I figure they've taken - yahoooooo! I'm really looking forward to seeing them in that spot where the stump is. ................ I am going to work with some vegetables this year - Barbara Kingsolver's book 'Small Wonder' has an essay of hers about growing your own vegetables and buying local. She has convinced me that each of us should try to grow at least one thing to eat - even if you have only a balcony. I usually do some herbs like oregano, basil, etc., but I'm making an effort with parsnips, broccoli, peas, green pepper, etc., this year. I think I'll just use containers outside the window. I put my seeds into pots about 4 days ago - the broccoli has already sprouted! They're in the windowsill of course - this mild weather every few days doesn't fool me into putting them into the ground. I'll leave that for the southerners. ........... I have lots of coleus - it's holding up well indoors this year. I'm not going to just hog it on my table garden (which I usually do). I'm going to spread it around the lot. Bonnie, I just found out my son is having surgery on his knee today too. Tore it up jumping from a helicopter. I will pray for your son and mine both to do well in surgery and heal fully. Sorry you had to put off Tootsie's surgery. I am praying for her as well. I hope the new grandbaby waits another week or two to let you get a rest in between. Hugs for all of you. Tell Mike hello for me.

My son just called and they rescheduled his surgery for the 21st so now I can just worry about your son today. Hope it all goes well. Call me if you want to talk.

Just talked to Bonnie. Mike is out of surgery and it went well. She also has a new grand daughter! My wish that it would wait to come until this was over didn't happen, lol. She won't be home for a while so I told her I would let you all know everything was ok. Congrats on the baby!

Congratulations to your grand daughter! Now you go and make sure your Tootie gets help.

KRISTY you didn't say anything about YOUR son. I pray that he recovers fully also.

I didn't know whats going on with son Lucy. He only left me a message on myspace and said he was having surgery then I couldn't get in touch with him. Boys! He finally called me back after I checked everywhere to get ahold of him and said its going to be Tues instead. I know Bonnie is probably worn out. I'll call her again later if she doesn't post and check on them.

It just struck me what was said about my son's surgery in the boat thread. A baseball bat is probably how he got his knee broke but hope they don't use that to fix it, lol. Gonna call Bonnie on my way home from work. Update you all later.

Bonnie is ok. Just busy taking care of Mike and his kids. She is going to go to Georgia tomorrow to see the new grandbaby and meet up with Brenda. She is really excited about that. She deserves a nice relaxing weekend. I told her I would post for her. I was worried that she hasn't posted today that something had gone wrong but everythings ok thank goodness. Love ya Bonnie!

Gosh when it rains, it pours! You have been a busy girl and your family has been quite busy too. I'm so glad to hear that your son is doing well, and Congratulations on the new grand daughter. You will looooooooooove shopping for her, I promise! LOL...

Congratulations to the granddaughter and have a wonderful time. It is so special the first time you hold that precious grandchild.
I was fortunate and was there at the birth of my first grandson. The second one I almost had to deliver myself hahahaha But I did see the head come before the ambulance took off with them.

Poor Bonnie was waiting for Mike in surgery when his twin brother was becoming a dad in another state. I know she is exhausted.
