Does cat hair in your food bother you?
Comments (64)I am not quite sure what you mean by marking everything? Do you mean rubbing their face or actually spraying items? There is a huge difference between the 2 and if they are spraying that is the owners fault for not having them fixed. You can also have the vet put them on prozac. I would also be disgusted by that. I have quite a few cats always have, always will and I can honestly tell you what you are describing is not the norm and no I am not delusional. It just sounds like you don't like them which is fine and is your choice. You lumping all smoker's into a group who smoke around babies or in smoke free environments or all cat owners having cats constantly marking everything seems a bit irrational and delusional. While you will find many people like that, you will find many more who aren't. That would be like me lumping all people who have a cocktail at dinner or stop at a bar on the way home for a cocktail as drunk drivers....See MoreDoes it bother you to spend the holidays....
Comments (5)OMG... that is so awful. I can't imagine ever inviting a guest and then not doing my best to make them comfortable. Even when welcome being around couples or a family can be difficult... a holiday just makes it all the more painful. I'm really lucky in that I have places to go on holidays. My genetic family always gets together for dinner but that is it. Nobody drinks or smokes so after dinner conversation is rather short and formal. We have talked as a family about why we are that way and think the Indians on my father's side just never had a sense of the christian holiday thing. Then I have a second family that I fell in with 25 years ago where they pack the house with people having a good time. My genetic family gatherings can be uncomfortable. My sisters are pretty so they have always had boyfriends or husbands paying them attention. Makes me feel sort of defective to be there alone. My adopted family never causes me discomfort. I get to converse with everyone and play with the kids while having a couple drinks... very healing. : ) michael...See MoreCL dilemma - what would you do? (long, sorry!)
Comments (29)Oh I forgot about the smell. Years ago we had stored some furniture from my Mom in a storage unit( not climate controlled, duh) and it smelled musty when we got it out several months later. This was in the dark ages before febreeze. We had gotten a bissell to clean the carpet and it has an upholstery attachment. We steam cleaned the furniture and the odor was removed. Is this something you have tried? Not suggesting that its dirty, but it may remove the odor. Otherwise, febreze, which is a miracle worker when you are traveling in summer in a van with field hockey goalie gear and smelly shin guards! I still prefer your own sofa, and I know that if I bought the Lee sofa because it was quality, not because it was perfect as is for my room, when it came time to decorate, I would feel as though I should hold onto it, even if my taste or my vision for my room has changed. Which has changed over the years. JMHO!...See MoreCriminy! Would this bother you?
Comments (72)It seems to me that cynic makes some good points. My friend has a Jack Russell, that stays in his apt. or can "run" for about 50 feet in a tiny park across the street from his place. Hardly a "run" really, on a rather short leash. She loves to come out here, for she can run from the house about 400 ft. to the barn in about 4 seconds. Runs this way and that, back and forth, chases the cats, runs and has a glorious time. When the landlord is here with his big dog, loves to tease her, running back and forth, and the big dog can not come near to catching her: like a fighter plane buzzing a big bomber. Keeping her confined in an apt. and for a 50 ft. run in a tiny park in the city is not being fair to her, it seems to me. Where does she poop here? Darned if I know: she stops when it suits her (if she can stand to stop). When the sod farmer took over beef-cattle manager uncle's land, he removed a lot of the fences that uncle had used to confine the cattle. Maybe some of you territorial folks should put a fence along your property lines. And another around your garbage can(s)? Maybe a movable chain-link one? ole joyful P.S. Maybe put a little metal box somewhere near your property, like one sees near the entrances to quite a few public buildings, with a sign for the smokers that says, "Please place your butts here". Trouble is - dogs can't read. Owners can, though. How can they train the dogs to put their butts where requested? I think that dog trainers suggest that folks give doggies a treat (usually food) when they do as requested. Part of which goes to make more poop, I guess. o j...See MoreJudi
