I finally have a bargain and can't find Nicole's bargain for June post
So, I went looking at chairs I could sit in to read, with a friend yesterday. She's looking for a couch, and recliners. I wasn't really shopping, but was window shopping. I found a super comfy chair with wonderful lumbar support but the online reviews were mixed, saying when they got their ordered chair it was nothing like the showroom model. It was also a 2 month wait for it to get made with the material you picked out.
Well, we found a second hand store and I found two of them almost exactly the same as the new chair. They recline and have some lumbar support, not quite as good as the new one. The new one was nearly $900. The used ones were on sale for $248! I went back today with my daughter, as she is apartment hunting in the same city. It also fit into my Rogue, which surprised me. I figured, if it breaks down like the new one's owners said those did, I would only be out $248, instead of nearly $900. Not super in love with the material but the choices with the new one weren't super great either. It goes fine in my light green bedroom and goes with my Ikea bedding too, as it is off white and beige.

Comments (79)Me either, functionthenlook. The woman who sold it said she didn't use it because she is a "from scratch baker" and had no use for it. I took that to mean there may be a school of thought out there that bread made in a bread machine doesn't count as homemade. I like to bake things like pita bread, English muffins, pizza dough, dinner rolls and hamburger buns. Looking into the future, I see the machine as being a huge time saver when it comes to mixing, kneading and proofing the dough for me. Comments (51)Tonight the temp will go down to 3º, with wind chills of -13, and then a HIGH of 11 tomorrow, with -16 wind chills. I will not be wearing my new coat, because I will not so much as open the front door except to pluck some firewood off the porch. Comments (56)I found one pair of Hokas today at TJ Maxx. They were 9 1/2 ( I am usually an 8 1/2 or 9) . I tried them on and they were actually pretty comfy.........but they were blue and orange and $79.99. I think if they looked a bit more "normal" I might have bought them. I want to be able to wear sneakers with a little nicer outfit ( like I was wearing today, for when we travel.... still casual but a step up from gym clothes).. These really looked like clown shoes on me and for the price, I just couldn't. But I was excited to see them in TJM. I would have been happy with the ones Jane shared above.
