I finally have a bargain and can't find Nicole's bargain for June post
So, I went looking at chairs I could sit in to read, with a friend yesterday. She's looking for a couch, and recliners. I wasn't really shopping, but was window shopping. I found a super comfy chair with wonderful lumbar support but the online reviews were mixed, saying when they got their ordered chair it was nothing like the showroom model. It was also a 2 month wait for it to get made with the material you picked out.
Well, we found a second hand store and I found two of them almost exactly the same as the new chair. They recline and have some lumbar support, not quite as good as the new one. The new one was nearly $900. The used ones were on sale for $248! I went back today with my daughter, as she is apartment hunting in the same city. It also fit into my Rogue, which surprised me. I figured, if it breaks down like the new one's owners said those did, I would only be out $248, instead of nearly $900. Not super in love with the material but the choices with the new one weren't super great either. It goes fine in my light green bedroom and goes with my Ikea bedding too, as it is off white and beige.

Comments (79)Me either, functionthenlook. The woman who sold it said she didn't use it because she is a "from scratch baker" and had no use for it. I took that to mean there may be a school of thought out there that bread made in a bread machine doesn't count as homemade. I like to bake things like pita bread, English muffins, pizza dough, dinner rolls and hamburger buns. Looking into the future, I see the machine as being a huge time saver when it comes to mixing, kneading and proofing the dough for me. My first loaf is rising and it's looking pretty good!...See MoreHave you found any bargains? or deals?
Comments (48)When I try some new-to-us product and we love it, I can bet it will be discontinued in a month. I 'discovered' Ghiardelli Milk Chocolate Fudge Caramel Bars when they were 'on sale' at our local grocery. We bought them regularly until...yup, discontinued! No local stores had them. Amazon had them at ridiculous prices. I thought Ghiardelli had stopped making them. But no! One day I discovered that Ghiardelli had stock and would ship free for a sizeable order. We now have 24 3.5 oz bars @ $2.90/bar -- cheaper than the first 'on sale' bars. I'm also the owner of two chemical cold packs that came with the shipment -- and have already used one on a bruise. So...not a HUGE bargain. but definitely *sweet*....See MoreHave YOU found any bargains or deals lately?
Comments (145)I meant to share this earlier- it's just a super handy dandy thingy that I found at the Dollar Tree ( so it is now $1.25) I keep my charging cables in here and can always find them easily. I keep it in my purse on a daily basis and when we traveled it was just so handy. All patterns and a few different shapes. Mine is about 2 1/2 or 3 inches square. and open- (it also has a net pocket inside. Gotta love it....See MoreHave you found any bargains or deals lately?
Comments (82)Interestingly, the sewing machine/table belonged to this woman’s dad. She said it has always reminded her of him. (She is elderly now.) Several people wanted it, and somehow she chose me. Hmmm, maybe my dad had something to do with this? It is gorgeous but HEAVY. DH and I picked it up this morning and it’s still in the car! We need to pace ourselves LOL....See More
