Paint Design Dilemma Exterior

Unique House - Stuck on Exterior Wall & Window Colors

We just bought this house which we are in love with. The roof is brand new so we are stuck with the brown on the roof. We are at a complete loss with what color to paint the windows, fascia/gutters, and the siding. Would welcome and and all ideas/suggestions please please please!

I think I'd remove the stone fascia and put in plank siding instead, since the stone isn't anywhere else on the house. Then go for lighter earth tones on the siding that will work with the roof: sage green, light taupe, etc. Go darker with the trim and front door for contrast. Maybe a forest green.

IMO the stone makes the house interesting so choose a color from the stone for the siding and trim and tehn if you want choose a different color for the door.

If you are selling now, just give a quick coat of the same dark green semi-gloss or satin paint to the shutters and trim. Put your money into neatening up the landscaping and adding some bright flowers from gallon cans the week it goes up for sale. Remove the dangling pot, too.

I would remove the shutters, beef up the window trim, bust out those two brick columns and paint the board and batten siding traditional white. Use the German Smear technique on the brick to continue the farm cottage feeling. Replace the garage door with a more countrified white one that has black wrought iron trim (you can get faux trim cheaper.) Then put the focus on the front door with a full glass storm and interior door, all painted black. Add larger country lantern lights, and replace the stumpy mushroom shrubbery with lots of flowers and airy greenery for a less formal feeling. I don't think the roof color will matter as much if you pull the focus down to the curb appeal and entry. Save up to do a standing seam metal roof later, or pray for storm damage/hail to take that one out, once you're well insured!

Still working on this! We’ve gone camping again so will finish up next week. I couldn’t find a vertical tile mural so I brought home this giant pig! Not sure of what else to do here, maybe paint? It looks lost there. Pink bougainvillea to be replaced with an orange one. And no chickens, but I did get this vulture! And some javelinas! 4’ metal lizards possibly over garage doors Any suggestions? I’ll be back!

The sage green trim and siding is a very nice complement to the fairly plain stone. Before I spent a penny on painting, I'd address the lack of landscaping for your front yard. Must be in Texas there's not a tree in sight. Do that and it's likely you will not fixate on the color of the siding.

Congratulations on your new home. You do have too much brown. I like SW Svelt Sage. It's a very neutral green - almost looks brown on it's own but I think it looks nice with the stone and the other brown. Here it is with brown trim (I would change that also).

I dont think you have too much brown. I would keep the windows brown, and the eves etc all brown. Once it is all painted, then the landscaping needs some work, and put some color around in potted plants, and garden plants. Also, you have a very nice little sitting area under the porch, make sure the cushions are bright and cheerful, and make it a welcoming area. I love the stone. Its a really cute house.

I would lean into the brown with a deep rich chocolate.
