Need some SERIOUS dining room help guys.
Comments (39)Kitchendetective, I read your comment wrong. I thought you said NOT to put something like the Poppy Nine Patch in the dining room but you actually said that it might work to put that there. Good point about not putting all browns in the dining room but aqua???? Wish I could wrap my brain around that one. Maybe I am just too predictable. LOL I'm trying to visualize how that wouldn't clash with the other colors but then again, it might work. Again, great you guys are thinking out side the box when I live inside it. LOL Thanks Chris. The wood does seem darker when I got it here which I'm glad for. A flat screen tv? I haven't priced those and not sure I can afford one with having to pay for new furniture but will look into that. They might be more affordable than I think. That would look better I guess on that cabinet than the regular tv that's on it now. Jamies...I originally had the artwork flipped like you suggest with the larger trees being on the outside but it seemed to look odd and not pull the look together as much as it does this way. It just didn't look right to me. I am about to leave and take pics of the LR and DR with me back to the furniture store where I am meeting the design coordinator there. She told me she could help me maybe pick out some things for those walls and I'm printing out everyone's suggestions to take with me. Gonna tell her if she can't make that darn sisal rug work somehow then I'm bringing it back. It's growing on me.....I think. Not sure yet. Thank you guys so much for your input. Will let you know if anything is decided. You guys are so valuable with your knowledge....See MoreHelp needed in designing family room and dining area
Comments (110)looking good sunil. just get what you like. Something that fits the space. colors don't have to be exact. once you get the drapes, the room will be done! (maybe do a tall plant in the corner by the window)...See MoreDining Room...need to add some interest!
Comments (22)With what shows in your pics it seems you are somewhat of a minimalist...so i would be careful with any additions....curtains or drapes may look cramped in the space that is there for them....as is what is missing is a dramatic centerpiece for the table...something low and wide as the table seems a little tall for the chairs...i might remove the two chairs in the corners and have only 6 chairs...at the table ...again establishing a more roomy but minimal look... a runner in a thick textural material would be a nice contrast with all the hard surfaces....something organic,maybe,...like woven reeds or a thick handwoven African textile....since the light fixture is a row of lights...something soft in a fan shape would add to the contrast and will catch the eye....if the sky was the limit i would bring in fewer...but bigger...softer...more luxurious chairs ...to match the scale of the table and contrast with the table’s simplicity......See MoreNeed some help with Living Room & Kitchen area in new apartment
Comments (5)Have you looked at Article? do you like this combo? I just recently got the black leather Sven sofa and that exact chair for my room. I love them! I also got the Sven leather bench/coffee table. prices are very reasonable. Then find the accessories. bring in some art or a rug w/color. I really loved the sven in the blue. this would look great w/your floor and cream wall color. (it is cream, right, and not the yellow in the picture?) Here's how the Sven sofa, bench/chair look: The pouf was from Amazon,,,the Tables and MCM credenza I've had and refinished myself. Rug I had, but I want to get something lighter. If you don't like the mcm style, they do have some others look at the Sven Birch Ivory Sofa. it's on sale! https://www.article.com I don't know know what your style is, but here's a sample mockup for the nook...I like the idea of the bench against the wall diff pendant. table ideas, and a darker chair...See MoreKarenS
