Need help rethinking Great Room / Dining Room / Family Room / Kitchen
Comments (3)The plan separates each living space with access from a central hall. It would work well for an office building but not so much for a house especially f you plan to entertain. I find that trying to make a good plan out of a bad one is usually a waste of time and effort. Its like renovating a house that hasn't been built yet. Decide what you think an entertainment space should look like and develop the house around it. But I would not design a house around an occasional use. The interrelationships of family members should be the dominant theme of a house. And I would never put a level change in a living space unless there was an alternate wheelchair route. If you plan to entertain, the front door should have wheelchair access too. An accessible half bath would be good too....See MoreNeed help on designing a kitchen/dining area
Comments (3)For just throwing it together, the first one is a good basic layout. I might put a tall pantry to the left of the fridge, and make sure the DW goes to the right of the sink. And move one of the stools to the short end, to make the island seating a little more sociable. Are you using a range, or cooktop and separate ovens? What's behind the sink wall? Any way to include windows on that wall?...See MoreDesign help/ family room and dining area
Comments (5)I don’t like the two tone....sorry The style doesn’t really go with everything else. I would look for something with a darker base to coordinate with your other tables and chairs....See MoreNeed help decorating family room and eating area.
Comments (17)You are fortunate to have a large room! As for the side table next to the sectional, it's not too much if you need it. If someone often sits there, they do need a place to put there drink and/or a snack. Maybe you need the table for a lamp, too. The one you have there now may a bit small, it looks like just the box of tissues takes up the whole table. Before you purchase a new one, why not wait until your area rug comes so you can get a good idea of what type of end table will suit?...See MoreRelated Professionals
