2015 "electronic" Speed Queen dryer?
Comments (11)Interesting Ken. The specs for this say the cylinder is "commercial steel." I don't know what that is. It actually looks aluminum-color inside. And the only other thing I see in the manual says this: Wipe the surfaces using a soft cloth and household cleaner or a non-abrasive paste of powdered laundry detergent and hot water, followed by a short heat cycle with a load of rags. To remove crayon or ball point ink off the dryer drum, put the heat on high and use old rags in the dryer to absorb the crayon or ink. If unsuccessful, contact the appliance dealer. DO NOT use any chemicals in the dryer. IMPORTANT: The use of chlorine bleach for removing any discolorations should be avoided because bleach could damage the finish. Guess it isn't stainless after all. But I do love it so far!...See MoreBrand New Speed Queen washer + dryer
Comments (8)Speed Queen operates through a network of independent dealers. Your experience will depend on your location and your dealer. If you are dissatisfied with the dealer or service where you purchased your machines, you may have some leeway in getting service from another dealer if you have several in your area. If you have problems with the dealer, you may have some other recourse through your state's consumer protection laws. Those laws vary quite a bit . Since your dealer sent a technician so quickly, you may have no problems at all and they will just swap out the defective machine. From what you said, yours is not repairable. Dryers are pretty simple, if the drum is bad at the outset, get a new machine. My local dealer is very responsive. I've bought other appliances from them in addition to the SQ rather than a Big Box store. With the upcoming holiday, you might have to wait a bit, but it should work out. Comments (7)I have the SQ TR7 I haven't noticed any clothing tearing going on whatsoever, but neither did I with a Maytag we had for 31 years (with 2 kids), nor with a Samjunk we had for 4 years (without the kids). While the Samjunk was just that, junk, it didn't tear clothes up, it just needed repairing every 8 months until the final repair was supposed to cost $600 to which we said no to. Samjunk dryers are not any good either, while ours only had one repair about 3 years ago, the motor now sounds rough, and now I have to turn the drum to make it run if the dryer has sat for more than a few hours. We are going to buy another SQ this weekend, but can't decide on the DR7 or the DC5. Samjunk fridges are so bad there is a massive class action lawsuit against them, so far no word on a settlement. Ours freezes up inside the fridge part, and I have manually defrost it about once every 3 months. I still have it, not sure what I'll get when it dies since SQ doesn't make fridges. It amazes me is that year after year Consumer Reports rates Samjunk as the highest quality??? Why hasn't CR bothered to check the class action lawsuits they had against the washing machines and the fridges?? Strange, makes me wonder if CR is getting a cut....See MoreSpeed Queen Dryer leaves black streaks on canvas
Comments (3)It sounds like the bag was much too large & the fabric was stiff. What probably happened is that some of the stainless steel was abraded and is now deposited on the bag. I doubt that washing it again will give much improvement. Would have been better to hang to dry....See Moredadoes
