Susan, I'm not at all sure my Bravos dryer is better than your dryer. (And I'm very sure your kiddos are every bit as good as mine! LOL) From all I've seen and heard, dryers are much more similar than washers. The main feature which seems to make a dryer really good is sensor(s) which keep laundry from over-drying. I needed a larger capacity dryer than SQ makes. I appreciate your kind comments regarding me personally -- they were right on. I've had such a good experience with my Bravos washer/dryer, I am indeed very grateful for them. At the time I bought them, it was a real leap of faith, for I'd never owned an HE washer before, nor any Maytags. I knew about the '90s debacle, class-action lawsuit(s), and subsequent company failure which led to Whirlpool's acquisition of Maytag. To those who speculate that I work for Whirlpool and/or am a 'shill' for Whirlpool, I can assure you that neither applies to me. And my Bravos washer/dryer are the first ones I've owned which were made by Whirlpool, AFAIK. My career is in education -- the only field in which I've ever worked. Because I was so un-knowledgeable about current models of washers/dryers in general, I researched for months, both online and IRL, before making a decision. I've seen many posts here from people who love/> their washers every bit as much as I love mine, but it's never occurred to me to accuse them of being an employee of and/or 'shill' for a particular company, or even to think of their posts as being 'over the top'. I figure they've just had as great an experience with theirs as I've had with mine. suburbanmd, I do think if Bravos washers/dryers in general have a bad reputation, it's undeserved. My statement is based on the many positive reviews I've read at a number of websites, plus positive statements from independent appliance repairmen, plus my own experience, of course. Yes, one of the reasons I post my positive experience here is for people who want to hear from someone who owns Bravos washer and/or dryer. At risk of being flamed (not from you personally), there does seem to be quite a bias in favor of frontloaders here. And, yes, you are right -- if I ever have a problem with either of my Bravos appliances, I'll post it here. I've already been totally honest about my one and only disappointment with my washer (which also applies to all HE washers, AFAIK). A guy has posted here a number of times, whose grandmother owns a Bravos -- an earlier model than mine. He too has said she gives rave reviews of her washer. For some reason his name escapes me, but I'm sure a number of you know who I'm talking about. He posted just recently. Huebsch is Canadian for "Speed Queen". They'd probably like to use the better-known SQ brand in Canada too, but Whirlpool owns the rights in that country making it off-limits to the manufacturer. Both are made by Alliance Laundry Systems, an American company that mostly sells commercial laundry equipment to hotels, Laundromats, and such, under several brand names (UniMac, Cissell, Ipso, etc.). They acquired Raytheon's appliance division in the late 1990s, which had become a sideline to their main business as a defense contractor by that time (their radar experience once came in handy to help develop the RadaRange microwave oven though). Amongst other things, Raytheon built washers and dryers that were sold to both the residential and commercial markets. Home machines were branded either Speed Queen or Amana, but light-duty commercial machines (essentially identical to home equipment) sold by their commercial division used the Speed Queen brand only. Thus, the sale to Alliance did not include use of the Amana brand name. In the U.S., Raytheon sold their home appliance business to Goodman, which soon theirafter sold it to Maytag, which in turn nearly failed and the pieces were bought out by Whirlpool. The sale included the Amana brand and equipment. Raytheon held onto their commercial laundry business a bit longer, but eventually sold it to Alliance. Their product line included the homestyle Speed Queen machines, which were nearly identical to the Amana machines that Goodman now produced, which created an awkward situation that evidently worried Goodman/Amana: SQ and Amana were selling the same machines, even though they were now made by different companies. As conditions for the sale to Alliance, they agreed not to market SQ appliances for home use for the first 5 years. That agreement expired several years ago, so Alliance reintroduced SQ to the home market, mostly selling through independent retailers, emphasizing their commercial-grade quality and their popularity in laundromats. Since Alliance could never use the "Speed Queen" name in Canada, the 5-year moratorium never occurred there and Heubsch has been steadily available as a consumer brand for decades. In the U.S. (and elsewhere), Heubsch is used only on some commercial equipment and most consumers have never heard the name. Probably way more than you ever wanted to know...

I know Emma. It can get so confusing, and even I sometimes am like, well how much detergent do I use?! This bottle doesn't seem to have "turbo' on it, but it is HE. Even when I overdosed that load, I didn't have a suds mess up and out the drain pipe. Promising! As for how much to dose on a new bottle, vs an old bottle, what I do is use the dosing lines that are on 'that' cap, from 'that' bottle. Sometimes the caps change sizes, so your line 1 can now be a line 2 used to be. Make sense? I'm liking this formula so far. I also like the cap a lot. I've had a translucent Tide cap that is impossible to see the lines because the detergent sticks to the cap. This one, I think from the plastic slickness, coupled with the new thiner formula makes that problem go away--to date. Things might muck up in the future, but right now, I'm a happy camper with this formula. I find it cleans a little better than the last time I had a jug of this. I got it on Amazon from the official Tide section. It had a $3 digital coupon on it, and I bought it to have a back up in case a different F&G liquid I like changes their formula to something that doesn't work well for us. I've been skunked too many times now with all these "new and improved' innovations. I plan ahead when I can. Just try to find the amount of detergent that gets your laundry clean and also doesn't suds out your drainpipe.

Mama P, it is illegal to deny him if there are more than 50 employees at his workplace (or within 75 miles of his workplace). It is a federal law. He should appeal it or hire a lawyer and get attorney fees for having to fight it. Employee Eligibility To be eligible for FMLA leave, an employee must work for a covered employer and: have worked for that employer for at least 12 months; and have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12 months prior to the start of the FMLA leave; and, work at a location where at least 50 employees are employed at the location or within 75 miles of the location. Leave Entitlement A covered employer must grant an eligible employee up to a total of 12 workweeks of unpaid leave in a 12 month period for one or more of the following reasons: for the birth of a son or daughter, and to care for the newborn child; for the placement with the employee of a child for adoption or foster care, and to care for the newly placed child; to care for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent — but not a parent "in-law") with a serious health condition; and when the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition. Leave to care for a newborn child or for a newly placed child must conclude within 12 months after the birth or placement.
