" Don't do any door wider than 15 inches because of the 39-42 in height you want" herbflavor and bnfenton-I keep puzzling about the 33" cabinets as being over the 15" door width herbflavor discouraged. I returned to the very nice KD I've been working with on semi-custom face frame cabs- and we changed to the proposed upper cab layout: (L)24", 33", 33", 36" range hood, 15" cab (R). While the KD didn't think the 33" upper over the 30" sink base was a great idea, I don't mind as it flanks the sink by 1.5" on each side. But, 33" mean 16.5" doors, right? I've never even heard of that. Or more likely it is 16" and reveal. That's above the "no more than 15" wide" door suggestion to avoid problems with 39" or 42" height (which he feels pose no problem as they turn on the door hinge). I do recall reading about trim and tall uppers in the past. Is there something I'm not understanding that anyone might further clarify? Thank you very much. Also to add re: the seating. The current kitchen has a breakfast nook with a counter-height table, which I use all the time. I eat 95% of my meals there. I also tend to multitask on the laptop while I'm in the kitchen, so it's nice to have a counter separated from the work zone. The seating as drawn is 60" wide with 18" overhang at bar height (because it's continuous counter over W/D), so much bigger than NKBA recommendations. I did post a layout thread a long time ago (project has taken a while to kick off!( and got a lot of great ideas. I've put a lot of thought into it and am happy with the trade-offs in this version for my small, old house :)

Brent & Becky's, another excellent mail order nursery for bulbs, has a search function for different zones and the early/mid/late season is often included in a cultivar's description. I don't know if any of them ship to Canada but nonetheless can be used as a good information source for daffodils. There is also a comprehensive database at daffseek.org for finding suitable varieties. Hope this helps.

They have Certified Kitchen designers in Lowe's that can help you. If your Cabinet dealer dosn't have a certified designer on staff I would find a dealer that does. That sould be part of the service they are offering you when you buy the cabinets.
