And I would add subway tiles and non-neutral color schemes. I find I keep seeing friends' recently remodeled bathrooms and kitchens full of subway tiles, the new glass tile, granite countertops, travertine, rustic tile and I am just sick of seeing the same thing all the time. I liked them at first but so many people are doing the same thing it's beginning to turn my stomach. So I have a cottage house at the beach and I love contemporary. I am doing quartz counters (cement color) in kitchen on one side, then in a nod to cottage style, marble on the other side (and now I'm sick of marble too since everyone is doing it). I feel I have to give a nod to cottage. I'm considering doing my 3 bathroom vanities in concrete countertops with integrated sinks. My concrete guy will put a subtle sprinkling of abalone shell into the counter since I live near the beach. But I am worried that this look too will be dated before long. I wanted hardwood floors in my bathrooms but was worried. I found wonderful tile that looks like wood, some distressed, some not that I will be using. I want to use antique porcelain faucet handles that I picked up at a local salvage yard. I was wondering where I can find a rough in valve that they will fit. The handles will fit onto a 3/8 inch square fitting. From what I have read, rough in valve handle fittings are not standard and vary from company to company and sometimes even from model to model. Does anyone know of a shower only rough in valve that those handles will fit on?

Your request is contradictory. A "bridge" faucet must be 2 handles because it is, well, a bridge design, a bridge having two ends. I am going to assume you meant a traditional Victorian look faucet that has a single handle. Also, it is harder to find a Victorian style faucet with a pull-down spray, although you can find several with side sprays. The only faucets I can think of that are traditional-looking and have a pull-down are by Whitehaus, the WH3-3172-L , and the WH3-3171-C. Rohl is the go-to manufacturer if you are looking for a traditional-look faucet. Rohl has the "Country Kitchen" line with a number of single handle styles and with side sprays. Here's one of the Rohl's, and here's another that has a charming porcelain handle, but there are more. The price will vary greatly depending upon the finish you want. Also, Kohler makes k-169.

It depends. I like the look of two handles, and installed one in our bathroom last year. It was an improvement over two knobs, but while the faucet still makes me happy to look at, it drives me nuts to use. Temperature regulation takes that extra split second x number of times a day; the two handles take up y amount of extra space on either side of the faucet, and there seem to be extra bits to clean - all inconvenience level problems. Changing it out to a uglier one-handled lever is creeping steadily up an already very long house to-do list. We also have two handles on our basement utility sink. It's still inconvenient, but not as often, and I'm keeping that faucet. I'd put two handles in a guest bath or show kitchen, but our kitchen is getting a single lever handle, non-negotiable.
