OH NO...what did I do... don't look if you don't like spiders
Comments (17)For three days now, I have been seeing a rather large spider crawling across the top shelf of my computer desk. I haven't tried to catch it to put it outside, because grabbing among all the stuff on the shelf would result in a disaster. It must be difficult to go through life fearful of bugs, spiders, snakes, etc. I don't have that fear, in fact for the most part I find them fascinating, and in the case of spiders, when practical, adopt a live and let live attitude. My mother was the same, as is my sister and my children. But in my husbands family, they all are more fearful. So I am wondering if a persons feelings about such things are inherited or perhaps learned....See MoreHow do I put an oven under a countertop?
Comments (6)We did this, but I'm not at that house now, so I can't go look at it. We put the oven under a peninsula in my dedicated baking area. Modern ovens are really well insulated. I have not noticed anything other than the oven getting hot, even after long roasting or hot pizza baking. I can't quite visualize where it vents, though. After I'm done, it does run its fan for quite a while til it cools off. It's not particularly noisy, but it takes a while. I just open the door if I don't want to hear it. Just a couple of caveats. 1) the oven will be lower than the oven on a range if that is what you are used to. Some people find this a problem. Our racks glide out so easily that I don't find it difficult to get things in or out, but I do notice that I have to get pretty low when I want to keep an eye on the browning rate of something. 2) the ovens can be pretty separated from the exhaust vent. This may or may not matter, and it is the same with wall ovens on a wall. (I got to "test" my smoke detector the first time I heated up the pizza stone with its residual oil deposits.)...See MoreI don't like the floating shelves by my range, what can I do?
Comments (80)I couldn't wait to get home & play!!! Thank you all so much! We moved in here & a lot wasn't/still isn't finished. I had to take a break for awhile to live in the space. Just for fun, I found another set of pictures to try also. Ok, so I couldn't let completely go of some of my stuff & put it in the "dead corner" The other side of the kitchen( my favorite place to sit, especially in winter). Still need sconces for FP, pendants over island & UC lighting........... AND command center/ wine bar AND rework pantry cabs to hold microwave & breville in my "scullery" area....See MoreI just realized that I don't know what I'm doing afterall
Comments (5)They look the same and likely self seeded from a nearby hosta. ==>>> junko probably didnt mean what he said.. since independent seedlings are not the same ... and i dont know how you verify they are pieces of some old whole.. or two different seeds ... did you dig out some other named hosta?? .. if not.. then its an un named seedling... may end up being a nice hosta ... but dont go asking for an ID ... if a hosta dry or crown rots ... and the crown rots away.. frequently ... you will have have a bunch of small plants.. all from the momma.. that look just like this ... but when you dig it.. you would have seen the old rotted crown .. so you could assume they are all the same ... ken...See MorePaul F.
