Please help me choose a paint color for my stucco!
I need help choosing a stucco color. I’m getting new shutters which will be painted SW Tricorn(black). My bricks are Old St. Louis(red/orange). I want something lighter than what I currently have on the stucco. I don’t know the name of the oringinal stucco color. All of the samples I have are too light in my opinion. Can someone suggest a color that will look awesome? Thank you in advance!

last yearI am trying to figure out what there is stucco anywhere on that house . IMO no shutters the house seems to be a bit confuses as to style for sure.Even the windows don't match. IMO a darker color for the stucco would be a huge plus to try to blen these styles a bit more . I woudl do something like this for sure not white

A few suggestions. Obviously these first two brick examples are more orange — these colors would look even better with yours:

Comments (6)This might sound like a lot of work right now, but have you considered painting the cabinets white? I love the chair rail and the wainscoting in the dining room, but your cabinets do not really match that style right now. Your Kitchen would look fabulous with white cabinets and a white subway tile back splash. No matter what you do, I would suggest changing the hardware to a stainless steel. In the mean time have you considered a brown/putty color for the walls? I think that I too would go more neutral. Stay away from yellows since your cabinets have a lot of yellow in the wood. For example a brown like this picture. I think it would really play up your current kitchen cabinets. I would stick with the same color below and above the chair rail. Comments (22)To me, the original color looks embedded in the stucco. In the West, an elastomeric paint would be used only if the exterior has lots of thin cracks due to setting; we usually don't use this type of paint since it reduces the permeability of the stucco which is a bad thing. In rainy parts of the country, wood framing under stucco may be susceptible to rot and then you'd consider elastomeric paint . But in the West, the breathability of stucco allows moisture to evaporate quickly, leaving the home safe and dry and therefore we generally use regular old exterior paint and avoid the elastomeric paint. Comments (8)Thanks for all the suggestions. The roof is current. The reason for the color change is that the house was painted in a glossy-ish paint and the paint is just flat out peeling. It seems like it wasn’t prepped right, maybe? I love the warm white or cream colors. Would you do no trim or darker trim? Would a brown fascia look ok?...See MoreSusie .

last yearYour house and brick are lovely. I think white and black with brick are classic.
The Alabaster in Jilly’s example could be nice. It can look much brighter on the exterior.
