Comments (31)In my experience the color on Luna Moth is very stable shortly after the spring flush when it starts a little muted with less color contrast. Shadow's is either very early or growing in a lot of shadow (pun intended). Regal Splendor in September, it waited for a hard frost to take it down.
Drop Dead Gorgeous, I purchased as a plug in the spring and it put out so many leaves and even bloomed. In the spring I will find a place in the garden for it. Photo taken in August, it is still looking good.

This sport from Sagae outgrows Liberty in less sun for me and always gets comments from visitors.
In 2017 I bought a Sagae with the widest margin I could find at the nursery (it was still relatively narrow) and it quickly responded to being planted in the ground by getting ridiculously wider. You can still see a little bit of the Sagae being taken over by August of that year.
