Hosta F 2022.................
Comments (41)I'm still here. thanks for thinking of me. Just late to the party. My first Foxfire Palm Sunday decided to sport into Foxfire Good Friday. I guess Palm Sunday comes before Good Friday so now I'm waiting for Foxfire Resurrection Day. I know Foxfire is out of business, but if FGF sported into something could someone else in good conscience name it Foxfire RD or would that be in bad taste? Well, I guess FPS already sported into Foxfire Resurrection so I suppose not. Wow, I'd love to get that one. Anyone find it anywhere? Foxfire Irish Moon with a young First Love (aren't all First Loves young?). Foxfire Irish Moon - love that frosty green Foxfire Off Limits - first year Fantasy Island - a great mini (next to Moulin Rouge) First Dance Fragrant Queen and Etched Glass Frosty Morning - lost half the plant to root rot a couple years ago but the other half seems fine. Comments (33)mbug, love your dog and puppy statue in the garden…..Ripple Effect got my attention when it was on the cover of one of the hosta publications in the last year……yours is very nice. Does it get much sun?? Also, I don’t know your zone, am wondering if it’s 5 or 5b like me. All of your hostas look perfect! No burns, frost damage or even munchies damage…. How do you do it? One more thing, I see you have hostas in pots…..how do you overwinter them? Old_dirt, your hostas are beautiful as well! All your medio-variegated ones look terrific! I always thought those were a bit more picky about their conditions. Do you think they are? Also, Royal Standard has a pure white flower whereas Honeybells is more lavender. To me, the foliage looks like RS. Your Regal Splendor is lovely! debra...See MoreHosta S 2022 ........................
Comments (47)mbug, your Stag Leaps bed is absolutely stunning! Boy you really have the eye for design like others here…. I am trying to do that but it doesn’t come easily to me… also yours and Beth’s (?) St. Elmo’s Fire look like a NOID I have, sorta…..It has a lavender flower in July but the leaf shape is thinner like some of the young leaves on yours…. Satisfaction maybe not so satisfying if it’s reverting 😂😂😂 All of yours are terrific, but I looooove Strawberry Banana Smoothie! So bright! In your Striptease bed, what is that tall thin leafed plant next to the fence and Liberty? debra...See MoreHosta t 2022 ..............
Comments (32)My #1 favorite Hosta even though it hasn't really increased for me. It will be split and 1/2 moved to hopefully a better location this year. I love the tall, vase shape that shows off the legs. And the ruffled edges are a big plus. Have I mentioned that I like the green-on-green look? This adds a color changing margin, but not just a single change. It comes up yellow, goes to medium green, then to lime green and finishes with a brighter yellow and green cream edge with overlays streaking in to middle. I didn't get any pics of the early yellow edge last year. I need to take more pics of it this coming year. So here's a May pic from 2021: and after the edge turns green then lime green and the finale: I've finally got The Queen on order this year and I'm hoping for a similar display right next to it....See MoreRelated Professionals
