Boys bedroom help

hi everyone! i have come over from the uk site to get more opinions- i hope thats ok!

This is my boys bedroom. i need to add more shelves- i was thinking to take away the bookcase, do a full width shelf using those blue fixings which are there from a different shelving unit before the bunkbed, and then shelving down the wall where the bookcase is now, but for some of the shelves to be corner shelves with equal width on both walls. i love the dark wood with industrial brackets but is that the right sort of vibe?

the wall opposite is the white cupboards- should i change the colour of the door handles?

the blinds are blue purple and grey on an off white back. looking to also repaint- should i stick with the same neutral colour or go for something different? carpet is grey.

I love that he reads but yes I need to have the sizes of the walls and if you use graph paper it is quite easty to do a scaled floor plan just measure the floor all 4 walls make sure the measurements are clearly marked show where the window is and its size where the cabinet and also if it can be moved. Maybe some pics of the shelving you are asking about too.I for sure can't see putting shelving on the wall above the top bunk bed but have you looked at trundle binks then there would be a big drawer under the bottom bunk for tons of stuff. So like this but no mattress in that bottom drawer.And even the bookcase at the end could work.

What are the new shelves going to hold ? How old is your son? Does he read all those books ? I need a to scale floor plan to figure out where tyou are thinking of adding shelves . I would right now tak the stuff off the top of the bookcase for sure .

He is a bookworm and yes reads them regularly. we live in a small flat so this is really the only place for rhem. behind the door there is another bookcase too 🤦🏻‍♀️ i dont have a floor plan i dont think, but i can measure walls if that helps?

as for the stuff on the top- yes that needs to go! one thing is a wool kiddie rhino head that needs to be hung somewhere and the clock also needs to move, but thats for after!

Repainting is easy so I let me kids pick out their own paint colors for their rooms and bathrooms, even if it's not what I would have picked. DS was nine when we did our reno and changed around his room. (He picked a pretty cool color brown/gold color, but I would have let him do whatever. DD picked very pink.) Here's a picture of our 'red room' which I had painted looong ago; it's the guest room in our basement. Yes, it's very red, but with furnishings etc the impact is lessened. Here's a shot of part of the kitchen, a BM color called 'Baked Clay'; has more orange and brown than a pure red (you can see it looks different in different light; the real color is somewhere between the two; ignore the weird reflections in 2nd pic): You mentioned he likes the Ravens; DS is a sports fan too and one of the cool things we got him is a 'ball claw' to hang a signed football (it's between the Bulls and Bears pennants.)

Does he need both bunks? If not, you might consider removing the bottom one and then you could easily make that space into a reading nook and add shelves under the top bunk. We've taken the time to include just a few pictures of our designs which we thought might help you more.
