Bad Joke of the day: Somebody stole all of my lamps……..I couldn’t be more de-lighted.
Upgrade, like all of the other Gossards I have, they do great in my garden. The spots on the petals seem to be more prominent on cooler days.
Undercurrent is another good performer here. It has rebloomed for me twice over the time it has been here. Color is more saturated in cooler temperatures.

3 months agoLove the joke Sherry! I have only one that fits this category and it is ULTIMATE ILLUSION. This is an early bloom.

It is a rapid increaser. Blooms over a long period of time. A very different look in my collection.

Like Kate and most of you, I really like Laura Harwood. and also had trouble choosing one photo since she is such a showoff. Life Unlimited, another really nice one: Little Light of Mine: Always a showoff here: I am glad yours is doing well and sorry yours didn't bloom this year, Debra. Louisiana Jones: I just really like the blooms on this one: Long Legged Lap Dancer: It looks like a bitone here due to the heat I suppose: nice bloomer too. I too love Lady Dragon, Kate, but mine is too new to know how well it will do here. Mantis, I like Love 'n Loujean and Lovestruck Linda. Lavender Dew is a pretty one Brad. Debra, Lillian's Thin Ice is lovely! Nancy, Lincoln Andres is a nice one. Kate, I agree about Dragon Lady, of course, as you know. Celeste Lavender Panties is lovely Nancy, I like your Lavender Aura . David, Lunar Empire is a lovely yellow clump. Comments (25)I'm late to the party but wanted to share mine (of which some have already been shown): PRINCESS SYNDROME, healthy & hardy, fertile both ways PLANET CLAIRE, I don't grow many yellows but this one is my favorite. Lots of blooms, nice presentation and a husky plant. Apparently I didn't take it's photo this year but Mantis' photo portrays it nicely. PINK BRAID, always blooms it's heart out. Flowers are always perfect on a hardy, carefree plant PINK PRINCESS SLIPPERS, tall, with large blooms and lots of them. The staggered look of the blooms is only because the plant is in a terraced garden PINHILL TALL GODDESS, lives up to it's name. PLUMCAKE PATTY, agree with Mantis on this one. Comments (23)There are many W's that I think are pretty. Just to name a couple that appeal: Wayne's World and Wild Red Heart (I like the pattern), and Wrenetta Powell (the white star on the petals like WW and WRH again).....Mantis: Fyi on Wayah Valley, a friend asked me where she could buy it about 3 years ago and I found a source in New Jersey that sells it rust free. I'll include a link. She is still growing hers and is as impressed with it as I am...........As for my poor When Royals Dream daylily, someone with an inground garden needs to try it. It is on a list by someone as being winter hardy to zone 5, but our usual freaky freezes damage the still very lush green foliage when they hit. Someone who doesn't have our roller coaster fall/winters temperatures could very well be successful. David - Ultimate Illusion has a neat pattern. I reminds me of Secret Sentinel, which I grow.
Untamed Heart - My intro performed well last year, despite the dry, hot weather. Two scapes had the registered 18 buds, and the others were in the mid teens. This one is a terrific pod setter, even in hot temps. Unlike my earlier intros, this one is an early morning opener. It reblooms some years, but not reliably here.

Unbound was a new one last year. It's supposed to be excellent for hybridizing, but it was too hot last summer for me to be successful with it.

3 months agoNice U daylilies. I like them all, but especially Ultimate Illusion.
I have only one U to add. Unstoppable is a great grower. It has made a huge clump, so much so that it is crowded out everything around it. We meant to split the clump last year, but didn't get to it.
