If it ain't broke, don't fix it

My Black and Decker drip coffee maker crapped out so I bought a good used one on Kijiji for $10. Great seller, mint condition coffee maker.

B&D changed the design of their carafe; instead of the nice long pouring spout it's a square one. Unless I'm very careful, coffee (or water) spills all over the counter when I'm pouring it, whether into the reservoir or in my mug.

Also, there's a rubber ring around the top instead of the plastic one (molded as part of the pouring spout) There's always liquid left in the carafe, the rubber stops all of the liquid pouring out.

Don't the testers do a thorough test on things before bringing them to market? I tried looking on their site for this particular model to leave a review but couldn't find it.
