Comments (14)suivezmoi, Forgot to menition my carrier changed. It is now stanqk1@comcast.net. Roro, I coppied picture and blew it up and still see a huernia. I have some with 9 ribs, 8 ribs and 6 and 5 with 4 being the most common. My crested Huernia has 11 ribs. makes it very hard to count. Didn't see those leaves but my be the soft spines of huernia. Right now I am a Huernia addact and seeing them everywhere so maybe my brain is the one not working. Also forgot to add my good wishes to your son as well. I had them once and can not remember a more painful experience. God bless. Stush...See MoreWhat is good and bad at Trader Joe's.
Comments (6)I don't buy anything frozen at TJs or premade - I go there for inexpensive organic fresh vegetables and fruit, breads & tortillas, cold cuts and cheeses, and dried fruit and nuts. I buy chocolate there as well. I don't like their ice cream, and I don't like their mayonnaise, but those are the only two things that I prefer to buy elsewhere that I can think of. There are many things they do not have, such as grits and cornmeal, and I do not remember seeing frozen juices, but their bottled cranberry juice is the best and a great price. I think I got blueberry juice there also. I don't buy anything from the above list either. Lars...See MoreWhat to buy at Trader Joes
Comments (45)I know this is an older thread that keeps being revived...not sure whether to keep adding to it or start a new one? Probably many of the favorites here are no longer available, as is Tj's habit of moving onto something new. This weekend, I needed to take a little snack assortment for my book club and didn't have time to bake anything to go with the fresh strawberries I was able to get from the farmer's market. I found these: Trader Joe's Black & White Diamond Cocktail Cookies. They are a shortbread type cookie with black sesame seeds on the top - a tiny bit salty. Delicious!...See MoreWe are getting a Trader Joe's! Should I be excited?
Comments (39)I live within driving distance of 4 TJ's and go to one about every week. I like to stop in and get a mini-cup of coffee and try whatever they are sampling. When we had our grocery employee strike a number of years ago, it was one of the few places we could shop without crossing a picket line. The staff is generally very friendly and helpful. Many of their prices are very reasonable (bread, peanut butter, milk). Some of the meat is higher than the grocery store, but it is better quality too. I would say only half of the produce is organic, and a lot of it is pre-packaged. Bread is well priced and a good variety. Cheese--imported is good but the stuff with their name on it isn't that good. Frozen veggies are good, especially that roasted corn. Cards are a buck and very nice; I like them better than any others because they are short and sweet. Oh, if you like peanuts, get the blister peanuts. Salads are inexpensive, easy to pick up for lunch and a wide variety. I'm not too crazy about their prepared foods (enchiladas, for example). Have fun, Glenda.
