Decorate this bathroom!

I'd like to do something really bold to this little powder room. It measures about 5.5' x 7'.Our house is a Charleston single house built in 2006. The home has a lot of vintage details in its architecture, and our decor style is 1850s meets mid century modern. We use a lot of blues in the adjoining living room (see photo of drapes fabric for color palette). I don't think I can replace the vintage bathroom vanity at this time, but I can paint it. Later I'd like to replace it with a Victorian style console sink. I was leaning toward navy walls (see photo of inspiration bathroom in comments) but I came across Sherwin Williams Evergreen Fog, which might be nice also.What do you think? I'd love to hear your ideas!

I did Dal Continental slate floor in the bathroom, with white tiles and a different color slate trim and pencil. I love it. I really like contrasting materials and textures, and the smooth white tiles and the more rustic feel of slate is very appealing for me! Am doing a backsplash as I write in the kitchen which will be white subway and slate border to contrast, too. We live in a more wooded area, so the contrast fits the outdoors as well. Just dropped by -- and saw all of the nice comments! Thanks to everyone for brightening my whole day! :) Must give credit where it is due (LOL!) -- my DH thought of this ingenious solution for hanging a bunch of bath towels! We have a pool here -- and I did not want to deal with piles of soggy towels during the summer months. These double coat hooks work SO well! And frankly -- no fighting over folding towels! :) There are hooks behind the bathroom door for robes too. I found the panoramic photos at Marshalls -- and have a small number of old black-and-white photos and cameras in this bath. I love that shower curtain! Blue and brown is a very hot color combination right now, so you shouldn't have trouble finding accessories. My son's room is blue and brown, and we got some things at Target and others at Kohls. I think a light blue wall color would look great with it. If you're going to put new fixtures in there too, the oil-rubbed bronze finish would look really pretty. As for whether it would be too different from the rest of the house, I guess it depends on where it is. In my last house, I had a blue bathroom even though the house was mostly decorated with red, green and gold. It was sort of down a hall, so it didn't matter. I'm no expert, so I hope you get some other responses, too. I really like it though!

it's busy, so choose really simple accessories. towels and bath mats that have zero pattern to them. I like the black faucets above. consider also a black matte framed mirror with a very simple frame. try a round or arched mirror for a change. OR try a square mirror hung diagonally, to match the tile pattern. it might look great, or it might look cheesy. you could always rehang or return it! and then take a breather and give yourself some time. you might be overwhelmed because it's so new and different. the pic you posted is of a dusty, unfinished room with blue and red tape all over the place. it's going to look so much better when it's finished and cleaned up.

I am assuming this is your bathroom?

I prefer SW Evergreen Fog to any really dark tone.

Not sure what the wallpaper is you posted, but I would not pair that wilh Evergreen Fog. I think a wallpaper on the ceiling paired with Evergreen Fog would be stunning

The "wallpaper" is actually the fabric from my drapes which are in the adjacent living room.

Do you want a more "blue" theme in your home or each room a distinct tone?

You seem to have eclectic taste and I think the Evergreen Fog would tie into the living room (earthy green and earthy blue) yet give the bathroom its own character.

Matching a powder room to a living room is not something I recommend, unless the entire house is dominated by one color.
