I hate my new cabinets - help with counters
Comments (25)I do love colored cabinets. Sorry you're not getting what you want. I wanted white too, but we are just too dirty around here. What I wanted to say is that if I'm not mistaken, svelte sage is the closest match to Farrow and ball's French gray. There is a kitchen that all of us love with a french gray island. This is one of my favorite kitchens ever and if there is even a remote chance that yours looks similar. I think you'll be very happy! They used wood (not sure if you're interested in that) and it looks beautiful. That thick wood top is sooo pretty! Actually, the other wood doors are very similar in color to the ones you picked out with a golden something or other granite on the tops. I think that marble would be gorgeous if you can handle the pressure if it. :) There are some quartz tops that look very similar. You might try that. I'm not sure if I'd do soapstone (though would be pretty too) if you're worried about darkness in the kitchen. Try not to worry too much. I know the whole process isn't the greatest. But, the decisions you've made are very pretty and classic to your home. It will be stunning when it's done! Here is a link that might be useful: french gray- allison's...See MoreHelp! Comments (11)I know what you mean, we do like the color that is on it now, but would like something a little different to look at.....it sure is hard to choose....in the brown family there are so many! We found an aged redwood color we kinda like will have to see what it looks like on an actual shingle to know for sure....I know any brown would work, and being the house is really a neutral color it shouldn't be as hard as I am making it....just don't want to make a BIG mistake!!! Thanks!...See Morebought a new roof and now hate it
Comments (52)No worries! The company installed them. They weren't cheap; I can't remember exactly but they're basically the same door on every install so the price is consistent. I want to say they were $400 each, but we had them done at different times due to some weird door geometry we had (had to get a handyman to fix our front door first before we installed that one) so I can't be certain what I'm remembering. Just checked my house on google and their photos are pre-screen! I can take a pic when I get home and send it to you. They're completely unobtrusive when they're open because we have white trim (like you do) and got a white housing....See Morehelp! hate the area around front door of new construction home

Can’t do much taller door because will hit front entry light. Thinking of changing front entry light to recessed because then could. Appreciate all your ideas!
