Actually, if you limit the colors of granite you use and make some type of pattern, and the stones are all cut into finished shapes, I think it would look nice. Say you cut them into sqaares or rectangles, and used black and white granites, you could make a pattern similar to black and white floors, or a square out of one type of black and inside that a square of white granites and then another black or near black granite, ect. As long as you have enough scraps of one type or color and cut them to uniform sizes, I think it would look great! Hey, if anyone can do it its you, igloochic! Then put a cafe set with a couple of chairs on it and I'll go get that frozen margarita maker I've been wanting and be right over! (How far is it from CT to Alaska? I took a picture of the gap but cannot figure out how to paste it in this response. I did email fabricator and told him of this gap and the different overhangs on the granite. He is a very reputable person and said he would come over today or tomorrow with two of his men to see what I am pointing out. He said he would be happy to do whatever they could to make sure the job is done correctly and to my satisfaction. I don't think I could ask for more. I did pay him the balance of the job yesterday after install but I don't feel like he will reneg on his word. Being the GC on the job, I have learned a lot about working with the different trades. There have been mistakes made by the cabinet maker (stack of drawers were 2 inches to wide), cabinet installer (hung cabinet in wrong spot and had to have new cabinet made), my microwave did not fit in cabinet made for it because specs on the official GE site were wrong (did a work around that no one will ever see), granite install issues and we still have the floor refinishing to go! All these errors have probably added about 1.5 weeks to job (for a total of 5 weeks start to finish). The most important advice I can give is to pick good character in the people you work with. Stuff happens but the cabinet maker, the installer and the granite folks have been pleasant to deal with and always ready to remedy the situation (at no additional cost to me). It helps that my cabinet maker builds his own boxes and we don't have to wait 4 weeks to get a new box built - we are waiting for the drawer fronts which he does order. Will keep you posted.

There's really just one corner that is completely flush, the rest is "mostly" flush. Should I press to have this fixed, I don't know if it's possibly to fix it with the sink installed? I just did an oval undermount vanity cutout by hand and I'm sure there are "slight" imperfections. If the hole was cut with a CNC machine, there will be none, but the reveal is up to the homeowner discretion. The sink can be reinstalled by abandoning the fixed mechanical fasteners they've probably used and installing it with a Hercules Universal Sink Harness (Braxton Bragg). "Same with the side- do you normally custom- cut the granite to your space or just leave slight variances and cover it with caulk?" The reveal should be the same all the way around. There should be no "covering it with caulk". "Are all the bullnoses made in the same way- will I have the same problem with the granite sticking out too far with a different piece of granite, or did I just get a remnant that doesn't work well with my space?" No, you got an idiot templater. You could have them rip off the right end, but that may knock your sink off center. They could rip off the overhanging left end, reprofile and polish the edge which would not affect the sink center. "Should the granite have been sealed again, I don't think they did any kind of sealer at installation." Insist they bring a quality sealer and seal it in front of you. It will take a minute and a half and .50 worth of sealer. "I'm not wanting to be a difficult customer, not sure if I should insist on starting over or just live with it." You aren't being difficult. I would die of embarrassment if someone posted a picture of my job overhanging a wall like that. Have they no pride?

Germain, Can you send me a message offline? I will send you pictures of my windows. Mine are custom wood Windows but that will give you an idea of the seals. They are not installed yet. Looking at those pictures, I see a combination of installation issues and a hack by someone. It looks like the IGU was broken and replaced. I have never seen the black plastic gasket installed like that. The third picture looks like a stationary panel and a tilt turn window but it looks wrong. The windows are installed way too close to the wall. I have seen multiple installation of European Windows and none of them look like this.
