Can you email a friend & ask them to call it?

If you have Alexa, you can program it to ring your phone with the command, "Find my phone." It will even ring if I leave my phone outside.

no Alexa and email would take too long.

Get on Skype or one of the other services using a PC or tablet and call it yourself.

Go to a neighbor's house, explain to them what is going on, and ask them to call you.

If it’s an iphone, you can ping it from a linked apple watch.

We have a landline. When DH misplaces his iPhone he calls it, It's usually in the house somewhere,,,

IS this an iPhone or Android? Do you have any kind of Google home? You said no to Alexa. Google will tell you the location of your phone.

And yes a Tile or Airtag would help you locate it also.

I misplace mine all the time. i use the Find My Phone app on my ipad to locate it. My son texts me to call him when he misplaces his.

Hope you found it, but I don't understand why an email to a friend would take too long. Many people get emails right to their phones and could call you pretty quickly.

When we had a landline it had a locator button which would make the handset beep until found if you are referring to a landline, get a phone with that feature

Crickets from the OP but yet another way: You can send an email as a text message. Many carriers have this capability. If the phone number is (123) 456-7890, then an email sent from a pc or tablet to be received as a text by a Verizon phone customer would be addressed to 1234567890@vtext.com. Another way to make your own phone make a noise.

I haven't had to use it but did go there to see the options, You can ring your phone for up to 5 minutes even if it's set on silent. You can also elect to lock the phone or, if you think it's lost to you forever, you can erase your data from it.

All good advice. Short of all that, I would look in my car first. The floor between the seats etc.

Then gonthrough my house methodically if I am deep cleaning. Behind cushions etc.

Make a list you might have dropped it. Did you go on a walk? Retrace your steps.

I am embarrassed at how many times I ask Alexa to call my phone. I used to be Alexa averse. It was stupid and I didn't need it. Then I got one for next to nothing and found out how incredibly helpful it is. In the kitchen when I need to make a quick conversion from metric to imperial, I ask Alexa. (And I just asked Alexa what the opposite of metric was as I was typing.) I have one in the bathroom in case I fall in the shower - I will be able to call for help. If you live alone, think about that. Then there is just the "I'm curious" questions. I will be watching TV and am curious how old an actor is. I ask Alexa.

Graywings123, thx for sharing how you use Alexa, especially the idea of having Alexa in the bath. I hadn't considered how useful it could be, just thought of it an another gadget I didn't need.
