Then it is probably not Ph. Otherwise the plants look fine, it's jut that a few of them have the tendency to spoon in the middle and I didn't know what this was. Who knows... As for Home Depot gizmo...I just got the confirmation that it wasn't really working, certainly not to accurately measure light. I just received another light meter (Analog) which someone recommended on this forum and that seems to be quite reliable. I was surprised to learn that this one uses a tri-stage foot-candle range for precise readings on three scales; so fluorescent light is measured on a different scale than sun light. When I set the meter on fluorescent, it registered exactly 500 ft candles right at the plant level, so the set up I have really is the way it should be. Now I just need to receive my timer so I won't leave the poor plants under the grow light for all eternity, as I have sometimes done...and then get them pale in the middle. And some leaf rings for support...:-) Looks like this hobby is not as inexpensive as I thought it would be but it certainly is fun. On top of that, a few days ago I also got my very first mouse ear EVER! It's embarrassing how exciting this thing can get. :-))))

I still have one of those little grey wall wart transformers (with the terminals) kicking around somewhere. I remember it has the old "Bell System" logo on it. I agree with daemon2525. What about posting on craigslist, kijiji and other local boards? Say you have locally grown fruit for sale. If organic you might be able to find a group of individuals who would like to buy local food. Prices probably need to be pretty close to or cheaper than the supermarket on a per pound basis. If you have a busy farmers market you might do ok but what are 8 hours on a Saturday/Sunday worth to you?

I do have all the GW forums saved in my search engines. So I'm good to go there. Its just when I want someone to find GW, I've been telling them its part of Houzz. Everyone know Houzz it seems, so thats what I reference. I will stop telling them its part of Houzz and just tell them to search Garden Web in their browser. I don't know what I would be like these days if it wasn't for GW, LOL. It has been so helpful, kind, and motivating. Sometimes over these last 6 or so years, it has been a real stabilizing part of my life when I've needed a port in the storm.
