I think that the table would be better served opened and with the chairs I would go with a natural color rug, not white, maybe a bit of pattern.

The problem with not getting a rug with green is that the berry color in a rug will not play well with the orange-brown of your table and chairs. BTW is there a reason you have not set the table up to its full size? The proportion in the room is not appealing to the eye.

Its funny how you just get used to doing something the same way for years. ive always kept table with sides down probably due to living in smaller homes till now. Will def try extending table😊. What is ur opinion on this rug?

Open the table and use all the chairs you have, after reupholstering them in a color from the paper. When measuring for a rug, you want the pulled out chairs not to fall of it. Therefore, 36-42" lager than the open table all around is best. You can tape that out on the floor with painter's tape. If that isn't a standard rug size, go up one size as long as it won't run into the buffet or the baseboards. The last one Beverly showed repeats the diagonal pattern that we see in the wallpaper, but stays pretty neutral and isn't too busy. Notice how the soft green from the busy fabric below is pulled down to the chairs.

I would pull out a simple tan color with minimal to no pattern. Maybe the color of the upholstered seats?

I think the rugs with the green are awesome and if the chairs were done i s astriped fabric with tan, green and the red the whole room would be put together. I do agree open the table

White panel drapes in dining room. it opens to den with chairs that are same blue as peacock in wallpaper.

Also, neutral rug in den with off-white, grays and browns…
