Area rug selection phobic - HELP
Comments (14)Susie lovely DR and furnishings Glad you returning the rug - it is not only too small, too busy & wrong colors - your instinct is right Your furnishings have a lovely orangey tone to them - that is also in the drapery - a burnt orange in the drapery (on my monitor) I think a simple rug, that repeats some of the colors in the room and has orange tone, or embellishment in it No idea of the costs - love using others $$ ;) Love this for your space http://safavieh.com/bigpic.php?item=MRK120A http://safavieh.com/bigpic.php?item=MRK118A http://safavieh.com/bigpic.php?item=HL149A...See MoreArea Rug suggestion for Cole and Sons Mediterranea Wallpaper
Comments (31)I deleted one of my comments now that I see how small the print is on the wallpaper. It's great but very busy, so a simple rug with minimal pattern will work best. Next time, at the outset, show the whole setting of the space you're asking about so we can take in all the elements. Black and white or the white and black dhurries someone suggested should go back in play. Very important: make sure whatever you pick works with the floor color. Some of the golds, straw, and tans won't give you enough contrast against the floor even if they complement the wallpaper. Love the idea of black doors....See Morebold wallpaper
Comments (42)Ha ha. I know, I know. But now that I’ve thought about it, I do agree it’ll be too dark in the entire dining area. Light is a luxury in NYC apartment window-less areas, so I need to keep things light and bright (it’s the one design thing my husband cared about- everything else is in my hands). Thanks all for indulging me!...See MoreWhat wallpaper will work with my boring bed
Comments (16)The others who posted above are correct that the bed doesn't really fit on that wall between the two windows. I had a similar situation in another home and ended up with my bed on the same wall as the doorway. It isn't what most designers recommend - you should see the headboard when you enter the room, but because of the layout of the room I chose to break that rule....See MoreRelated Professionals
