My architect originally put my windows in the corner, the new style, and I didn't think I'd like it so I had my DH take out those and put just one in what I thought was the center of the wall. Then when I went to look at it I realized it wasn't centered. I too first thought I'd just cover the imperfection with drapes, but then thought, no I couldn't live with that. So my solution was take the window out all together and put in a single glass door that opens to the porch. I'm not sure I'm going to be happy with this decision, but it's too late now. I do get a lot of light into the bedroom from the master bath and I made sure to put in a lot of lights, recessed and otherwise. I thought I might put curtains on that wall behind the bed that would expand the entire wall and have the recessed lights shine on them and that would give a feeling of "windows." Oh well, at least I hope so. This is my first home build so I had no idea how differently things look in person than they do on those plans. I've learned now though!!

Still a work in progress but hoping to have it finished this weekend. We tried a long arm lamp from CB2 and it just wasn’t enough to balance out the window alone. We’re going to do a gallery wall behind the nightstand on the right. We also hung bamboo blinds on both windows (we have another asymmetrical window on the white wall). I will post it once it’s done so you can see if you like it or not. I really did not want to cover the window completely - I’d rather have the light than the design balance. To be continued…

I'd just use a very simple roman shade that blends with your wall color. Then place a piece of art above the left side of the headboard. Drapes that need to be opened and closed aren't very functional behind a bed and dresser.

Perfect space for personal retreat. Outdoor furniture like 2 comfy chairs, chaise lounger, coffee table ( with or without fire in center), bar cart to hold coffee carafe and personalized mugs or other drinks. Ample lighting that is dimmable for romantic times and bright enough for reading. If it gets hot, mister system to cool ambient air. End table/storage for soft luxurious lap robes. Twinkle lights? The list can go on and on depending upon users and what you want the space to do for you.
