Ever Heard Of A Sasanqua 'Rosey Red'?
Comments (4)I searched all over the place, and couldn't find a thing out about it. I have to admit that I was annoyed when the nursery that it came from couldn't even tell me anything about it. Camellias do wonderfully here, but like any plant, there are some that will thrive in certain locales, and some that won't. That's why I decided to stick with camellias that the camellia farms in Florida are selling. I am fortunate to have access to great camellias close to where I live, and they are privately owned by local people who love what they are doing. I like to give them my business, and they are wonderful with customer service. Believe it or not, I've even gotten some of them to thrive in a great deal of sunshine. I think the key is lots of pine bark mulch, plenty of water when it is hot out, and lots of organics to feed the soil. Sometimes I wonder if "Rosey Red" would have done well here, but I've since gotten some really nice ones that I am sure are adapted to my climate. Sandy...See MoreEver heard of a Pumpkin Tree? Comments (4)The terms "gunite" and "shotcrete" are often used without regard to the differences, but there IS a difference. Shotcrete is a wet application -- that is, the cemet and water are mixed prior to being applied via pressure through a hose. Gunite is a dry-mix application. The dry cemet is mixed with the water as it comes out of the gun. Proper application takes an experienced, talented nozzleman. The end result is essentially the same. So whether your pool builder uses shotcrete or gunite - you'll get the same pool....See MoreFlannel underling for curtains. Ever heard of it?
Comments (5)You'll find the interlining at the same places that sell curtain fabric. You may want to line the curtains or drapes as well. I had never done a project this involved until last summer. It was time consuming and tedious, but, as we say in this household, "It ain't rocket surgery." It makes the drape look very lush and rich, because the folds of fabric are so soft and full. The interlining is basted to the drape fabric, and then the whole panel is treated as if it's one piece of fabric. Be sure and cut the selvedges off your fabric. the seams may look a little "shrunk" if you don't. Any good curtain book will give you instructions on how to do this. you could find these at JoAnn's, or maybe even Home Depot....See MoreCA Kate z9
