I see Arkansas Girl posts here, and I wanted to ask a question about your roof. I saw your post from 5 years! ago about your ridge vents. I posted a question to you in that old thread but don't know how to tag you. I was wondering how that situation worked out for you... having a roofer install a shorter one in place of the longer one. The same thing just happened to me and I'm insisting he change it back to the longer one because it freaks me out know that open space is only covered by cap shingles now. Did you ever get that resolved? Thank you if you can see this.

OH I just now saw this and had pretty much forgotten about it. The roofer never fixed the issue, ended up having to have it fixed by someone else. The ridge vent the roofer had put in wasn't even a functioning ridge vent and he just put it there to look like he had done it, he put it just over shingles...UGH! This company ended up closing up shop shortly after they put our roof on. The roof itself seems OK and hasn't leaked since it was done in 2017? I think they were in a big hurry to finish and assumed that I would never notice...HA! I would think the roofer in your case should have put a full ridge vent in so the attic can adequately vent. The company owner in my case claimed that a ridge vent was not necessary for the attic of the garage. He never came back to fix the issue, I believe he must have been some fly by night roofer as like I said, he closed up shop shortly after he put on our roof.

HW, the tag line doesn't seem to work on every site I visit. So I'm just in the habit of HTML. Irislover, I don't have other cats. But I will carry him to the vet to be checked over and get his shots and deworming. And we'll discuss neutering him. Y'all, I should have named him Tazmanian Devil! I swear, he needs some ritalin. I have had to bar him from my bedroom at night because he loves to rattle the blinds, at all hours of the night! During the day, he literally climbs the walls. I kid you not! My foyer is an area for displaying family photographs. They're all over the wall and on a cedar credenza there. He hops on the credenza and climbs the framed pictures on the walls!! This morning I got up and he had knocked magnets off the refrigerator! How'd he get over there?? He knocked over two ceramic pedastals I use for plant stands and broke those. He knocks everything off my big desk. So far, nothing has broken. He loves to hop upon my computer desk when I'm here and eat my hair and slap my face. My arms are all scratched up because he bites and scratches anytime I try to pet him. He's not wild. He's just a playful, rambunctious kitten, not a mature cat. I figure he's 4 or 5 months old. He's a rascal! He is putting on weight. He was so skinny when I got him that his hip bones showed. Just in a few days, he's filled out nicely and feels solid and acts happy. And he's so grateful that I grow catnip. He rolls all over the place with it until it's in shreds. I need put some in a sock for him. That might be the answer to keeping him out of everything else. Tazmanian Devil would have been the perfect name for him! LOL

I don't cut back the stems. I wait until spring, and do my clean-up then. Bonnie, are you a registered member here? I'm trying to figure out why some people don't have a 'My Page'? Your name is black and your email is showing, instead of your name in blue and a 'My Page' in parentheses. I suppose, if you want your email to show, it could still show, but I don't understand why your name is black and not blue? You have no profile page that someone can click on. I believe it's called hotlinked when your name and your email or your 'My Page' are linked together.

Dear little baby. You are so lucky, and so kind. I am now surrounded by three Schnauzers, Barney (mine), Sammy and Roxy, my daughter's kids, I am babysitting for one week. I also have a Shepherd named Scooter, two cats, Rocky and Marvy and just yesterday was talked into bringing home a 5 month old calico from our vets office. My long haired Callie died a couple of years ago. Like you, I said I need something else to care for and feed like a hole in the head, but......she is so sweet and really puts these dogs in their places. Our first Schnauzer was named Princess Anastasia (Annie) and died 3 years ago in June. Schnauzers are such loving dogs, they love attention, petting, and snuggling with those they love...which is just about everyone. They can be headstrong and stubborn but we always send our pups to training classes then work with them afterwards. You will love your little friend. Congratulations to you.

Here are my garden themes: (October) 1. Your most bizarre - Anything that really stands out due to unique characteristics. 2. Ugh. I feel for you. I can't believe it wasn't even a functioning vent that your roofer put in. I also can't believe the roofer that did mine decided to go with one vent instead of the two that were there already! He said he wanted to save *me* money, but after spending all the money that I did, it wouldn't make sense to try to save me a couple hundred dollars. He is supposed to change it next weekend, and I really hope he is true to his word. Thanks for letting me know what happened with yours. Glad you got it fixed in the end. I find it stressful imagining mine pulling all that off, and not creating any more problems. Sigh.

OH yeah, save some money when you are spending $10,000? Silly! I think he was likely cutting corners. Had they done it right in the first place, it probably wouldn't have cost more than $50 to extend it to the right length! Am I right?!
