Thoughts on copper sink with nickel faucet?
Comments (6)We have a hammered copper sink in our bathroom and I hunted for hours and hours, days and days, non-stop for a faucet that seemed right.... and it's not even in a prominent place like a kitchen... so I can imagine your angst. (I read an article about "Champagne problems".... oops, OT :~)) While my preferred metal for faucets is nickel, it just didn't make me go "ahhhhh" next to the copper sink. It worked, but something wasn't quite right. ORB looked great colour-wise, but the finishes on the ones I saw looked fake somehow. Then, in the final hour, I stumbled upon a "Cifial" faucet (very hard to find here in Canada) and their ORB (called "Weathered") cast brass faucet is gorgeous next to the sink! I just joined this forum today and haven't figured out how to attach pix yet, but I've included a link below. Chop back the URL to see more styles. In real life, there's a beautifully subtle/warm/natural glow along some of the edges of the detailing. I'm not trying to change your mind as I really do LOVE nickel, but just wanted bring in another perspective. Good luck! Your sink & faucet are both gorgeous! ~ sb Btw, we're just beginning a kitchen reno and are considering a granite called "Brown Suede" because it does what I think you're trying to do --- tie together warm copper with other cooler metals. We're trying to blend the character of our rustic 1854 house with some of our more modern tastes --- warm cherry shaker-style cabinets with cooler pro-line stainless appliances. This granite seems to marry the two quite well. Now... any ideas for a backsplash??? Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreFaucet(s) For large Vintage Style Sinks
Comments (10)The term you're looking for is "deck mounted" rather than "wall mounted." The Chicago Faucets double-jointed spout option mentioned above can almost certainly be made in a three-holed, deck-mounted configuration, with or without a base plate. (Trailrunner and dianalo both have two-holed, wall-mounted bridge versions.) This isn't one of their standard configurations, so the product catalog doesn't show a picture. But it could look something like the one in the following link, with the spout changed out for a double-jointed one. (You could also choose one without the base plate, and/or different handles from among their few offerings.) Good luck with your search. It such a wonderful sink! Comments (0)Could you please check my thinking on this: === Current situation My existing 9 yr old Delta Touch faucet needed a $160 electronic part replacement. Would rather replace with new than fix. Really enjoyed it till the solenoid? broke. At about the same time 2 weeks ago, my 20 year old RO unit in my kitchen sink developed a leak from the manifold. Time to replace it too. Since I've wanted a single-bowl workstation style sink since I started seeing them here, I decided to replace all 3. === Challenge Am trying to coordinate the design and finish of: - Delta Touch faucet - RO faucet that will be nearby - Ruvati Kitchen sink === RO Faucet vs Sink faucet design I'm leaning towards the Leland https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/product/9178T-SP-DST because of my choices in RO faucet that will be right next to it. My thinking is: I should coordinate Sink faucet with RO faucet, more than the sink, because those are the 2 things sticking up out of the sink. If I were coordinating faucet design with sink design I'd go with the Mateo in a heartbeat. https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/product/9183T-KS-DST I don't see any RO faucet that coordinates with the Mateo === Finish I think it's impossible to tell from pictures which brushed finish would blend best till I actually see them in person. I probably should order multiple RO faucets and return one....See MoreAny Thoughts On This Chandelier - Age & Style?
Comments (14)@Fori You are absolutely amazing. The internet is one of the reasons why I stopped going to flea markets every Sunday morning because the fun for me was finding that "rare" object - not because of the value but because it delighted me visually. But with the internet I realized that everything had a duplicate somewhere and if I wanted something badly enough I didn't have to be out with a flashlight at 5 AM. Of course I am also at the stage where I am more seeking good homes for my objects to the extent possible rather than actively buying stuff unless it is useful and also has some specific place for it if it is decorative. Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful - to quote William Morris whose design aesthete I find beautiful. The Worth Point Majolica chandelier Majolica is a slightly different design than the one I have and the chain is different as well. I wonder if mine is a copy of this one or if it just got changed along the way. The text indicates this can be wired so this was intended for candles. Perhaps when my chandelier got wired for electricity they also had to modify the chains - or it could also have just been separated from the chains when it was removed from its original house. In the 1950's people were literally just throwing out vintage fixtures from the brownstones in Brooklyn and so this might have been salvaged without the original chains. The Worth Point text doesn't indicate date or style or period but were they making candle only chandeliers in the 1930's or even the 1920's?...See Moregtdj519
