What did you think of the Obamas' official portraits?

The Obamas were at the White House today for the unveiling of their official portraits. I thought they already had official portraits, but I learned that those, both quite contemporary in style, are at the Smithsonian. Today's portraits will hang in the White House portrait gallery.

I love the Smithsonian portraits--Barack surrounded by green leaves, Michelle in a rather dramatic white gown--but find myself less enthusiastic about the ones unveiled today. They are more traditional, which is fine, but I don't think Michelle's looks enough like her (except for the hands, which definitely look like hers), and I don't care much for the stark white background on Barack's.

I didn't get a close look, though; my opinions are based on a video clip, which isn't all that fair. So I'll seek them out to get a better look. Meanwhile, I'd be interested to hear what others thought.
