Thoughts On Rug?
Comments (3)An Oriental rug with a lot of different colors might be a good idea for this space. You can use it as a basis for pillows, throws, accessories, drapes etc. and your space will feel warm and well-put-together....See MoreThoughts on this rug
Comments (12)havingfun and Delilah, thank you. The rug definitely is too small for the sofa's. The only question I still have is if a 9 x 12 will work or if I will need an even larger rug. I have this one on hold and went to see it the other day. Actual size is 9" x 11'8". I may actually need a 10' x 13' though. Thank you lizzierobin. The colors and pattern in the proposed new rug look spot on for your home. I know that you moved in with the one Stickley couch, Thank you about the rug. The Stickley style couch is brand new from a Mennonite shop and they're making me another to match. Cushions are bone leather. have you always been an arts & crafts style lover, or did it come together with this house project? My first house was a 1927 bungalow and from then on I was hooked. I strayed for a few years to Victorian but realized I'm not that fussy. I just love everything about craftsman homes. Don't know if you have seen my saga, but here's a[ link[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/absolute-final-plans-and-elevations-and-build-thread-dsvw-vd~4361032) to my whole build thread with more pics....See MoreThoughts on this rug?
Comments (64)Good luck with your shopping. I hope you find the “ perfect one “ that you also love. If you have a moment, a_hopler , could you please take a picture of the living room all the way through to your dining room ( ie. standing by/ in front of your sofa )? I have tried to go back on my iPad , however Houzz won’t allow me to go back far enough to retrieve that view. As a non- pro, I think your second set of rugs looked more promising in nature ( color AND pattern ) than the first VERY light set . Some of those lights felt too overpowered by the saturated color of your sofa and chair. Their character did not seem to compliment that of your existing furniture. Some of the delicate patterns didn’t marry and integrate with your decor , imo. However , SOME of those specific darker patterns didn’t seem quite right either. I like layering patterns though and always find that to be a nicely developed and interesting look ,if applicable. I also really appreciate a certain continuity in feel and flow throughout ,and I think most people have an appreciation for that aspect, too. I seem to recall you have some deep reds / rusts? and blues in your dining room rug. Maybe bringing in a bit of that red into the living room , even with a neutral ground that has some blues and greens in it too, would help things flow,IDK….Wouldn’t it be a luxury if we could all have a blank slate from which to begin ?! Anyhow, best of luck in your search....See Morehelp! what do I put on the end table and thoughts on rug location
Comments (11)I would put the floor lamp in another area of the room---maybe in a corner and put a table lamp on the end table and I would paint the end table an accent color. You could put books and magazines on the bottom rack of it....See Moresalonva
